They've already passed the extra year of team control thing, though. And they're gonna try to extend him right away anyway. In their case, present is more important than 2019.

I agree with you. I also don't think they can wait until late June/early July to call him up. However, that is the only explanation for why he isn't in their lineup today. A fourth arbitration.
