I think the glasses are overrated but I couldn't agree more about the fact that there is no need to chill your whiskey.
Yes, any glass is fine. I enjoy drinking whiskey at home out of special glasses made to focus the nose, but that's completely extraneous. One of the best whiskey experiences of my life was the night before a wedding, drinking a 32 year old Springbank out of hotel water glasses. The glass doesn't matter. The whiskey does.

Yeah, I've got some special glasses also that are supposed to do the same for the nose but all I ever think when I use them is that I'm disappointed that they don't hold enough to be worth a damn.
However, I'm primarily a beer drinker, who hits the whiskey intermittently, for flavor and tastiness rather than efficacy. So I regard small portions of whiskey as a generally good thing. Maybe twice a year I have a whiskey night where everything is amazing and I don't get out of bed until mid afternoon the next day. But most of the time the last thing I think about whiskey is that its delivery mechanism is too inefficient though.
That's my problem, I just drink too much of the damn stuff on a regular basis. Luckily I enjoyed the hell outta today (minus the 2nd half of a certain basketball game) and tomorrow is going to rainy and chitty, so I don't care how late I sleep.
The way that you avoid watered down whiskey is just to drink extraordinary whiskey and drink it neat. It's not supposed to be cold, because cold numbs flavor. My wife drinks her whiskey straight up. You can too. You don't need whiskey cubes. Get some good whiskey glasses and drink it like a man.

Can you imagine if we got left out again?
Are there any reputable people leaning towards us being left out? After the past couple weeks, plus a win in the SEC tourney, I thought us being in the field was pretty much a foregone conclusion.
