I don't remember. Multiple guys expressing the belief that the petition is what it took to light a fire under the team because Cuonzo couldn't do it on his own. One guy said that he believes that if it weren't for the petition we'd be back in the NIT.

Whole lotta vitriol over there.

I don't see what they have to be so angry about at this point. We've got a really good chance at getting to the Sweet 16 this year. To me, if the trade off is that we have to ride it out with Cuonzo for another year or two then so be it. Trips to the Sweet 16 haven't exactly grown on trees for UT hoops, even when their Messiah was running the show.

I've said I don't love Martin for the long term but that type of talk makes me want to Hulk smash something

I've made it pretty clear what I think of Martin's coaching myself, but you don't see me out there taking a giant **** on two really great wins like some of these guys. It's like they get so dug into these message board arguments that they'd rather be right than see the team do well. I'd be thrilled to be wrong about him. Not some of these guys.

It's just crazy to me. People are acting like this run is similar to if Dooley had scratched out a 6-6 year and saved his job with a trip to a ****ty bowl. It's nothing like that. First, I don't know that any coach is capable of firebombing a program like Dooley did without doing it on purpose. Secondly, for UT hoops, a trip to the Sweet 16 is a fantastic season and we're one win away from it. Only once in our entire history have we gone beyond that stage.

Exactly. I got ripped endlessly in the FF for dogging Dooley by people saying I just wanted him to fail so I'd be right about him. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The big difference though was that unlike Cuonzo who's team has firing on all cylinders for about a month, Dooley never so much as made one positive contribution to UT and never gave me the opportunity to say anything remotely positive about him. He just spent three years acting like a jackass and losing every game that mattered.

I like this guy

Not sure why I even visit this board. You guys are the worst f'n fans of a team ever. Yes we're playing like ****, learn to control your emotion rather than just bashing your team. This Tennessee team is a great 11 seed and we are a weak 6 seed. Doesn't mean we are a horrible team and should be in the NIT and that our coach sucks and that our players are worthless. God you people suck.

I've never really had an opinion about him one way or another but that was awful. How damn hard is it to deflect the question? Biatch about the call if you want, but don't sit up there and talk about how your freshman made a terrible mistake and it's going to be a learning experience for him. He sounded like Derek Damn Dooley.
