Ian Desmond doubled down the line. Ball for wedged under the padding. Justin Upton threw his hands up and quit on the play. Desmond circled the bases. Upton was fortunate that the umpires reviewed it and called it a ground rule double. If he'd just picked up the ball it would have been a double to begin with, with no chance of it being called a homer.
