@mlbbowman: Justin Upton: "I knew I was right. It was just a matter of if they were going to kill the play or not."

I didn't see the play, so I can't comment either way.

If he actually just suddenly lost sight of the ball, all he can really do is throw his hands up.

Starting the rest of my afternoon off right by... Stopping up my toilet! Getting cray over hurr

That's supposed to be AFTER your birthday celebration, not before. WTH

Currently at Mule Day in Coumbia, TN. Danking on some Jack Daniels and checking out some asses ( :) )
Just came out here for an excuse to get drunk this weekend. I'll catch y'all Monday

Careful not to get too drunk.

Don't go "branding" any mules either. :)

When he reached down and picked up the ball with NO problem, it became kinda pansy-ish. He got lucky on the call.

I think that is more accurate than calling it BS.

By the letter of the law as it's apparently written by Nats Stadium rules, it was lodged. It was still rolling when it hit the wall underneath the pad and immediately stopped moving, stuck between the bottom of the padding and the ground. Also, at that point, Upton completely lost sight of it.

Awesome. There's a thread in the FF tonight weighing the upside of a fan physically assaulting an opposing coach (presumably Kiffin) versus the legal repercussions they might face.

Anybody been to the O&W game in recent years? I'm thinking about taking the kids next weekend, since we're probably going to be in Knoxville next week, and I'm curious what sort of activities there are for them to do other than watch a scrimmage.

I know they have the autograph session, but I don't remember if they have much else going on outside the stadium like they do on actual gamedays. It's been a few years since I've been, and the last couple times I did go we just hung out and drank at Copper Cellar and walked down just in time for the start.

Is the autograph session on the field? I don't think we care about autographs, but it would be worth going just to give the kids a chance to be down on the field. They would think that is awesome.

May depend on the weather. I can't imagine I'd end up getting to watch too much of of the actual game with both of them there.

Not sure where the autograph session is this year. I remember going when I was a kid and actually getting to go out on the field, but the last two times I went, 2009 and 2010 I think, they had it at the outdoor practice field behind Gibbs and it was an absolute madhouse.

Thanks. I saw that info on utsports.com; I just don't know what the specifics are -- i.e., what's at "Fan Day" and the "Vol Village" and all that.

It looks like a ridiculously long day. Stuff starts and 10 and the game doesn't even kick off till 3. Obviously we won't be trying to do all of it.

They may like getting to meet the cheerleaders and Smokey, if it isn't too early since you don't wanna be there all day.

I think "fan day" is the autograph session I was talking about. Vol Village might be more up the kids alley. On gamedays in the fall it's kind of like a family oriented tailgate with face-painting and inflateable bounce houses and such. I don't know how old your kids are, but they'd probably have more fun there than over at fan day where they'll have to dodge grown men going into full beast mode trying to get 18 year old's to sign their stuff.
