My guesses are a hard push for FSU even though UF will die, Clemson even though I do not think they will be half as good in the SEC, or if they run out of options, Louisville.

I do not think they would go after North Carolina. Yes they want a bigger marketing area; however, it would weaken the conference. I say that UNC will never be an option.

Plus, Unc-duke-ncst-wake are all too tightly tied. It's not a matter of obligations, but more that none of these schools want to leave each other.....they also like what this chain of ties does for their academia image


Let's not turn this into another "who else is going to come" thread just yet though....we have had like 3 or 4 (large) of those already

Virginia Tech, NC State or West Virginia should be their targets for the East. Assuming Florida State doesn't want in. Screw Clemson, Georgia Tech and Louisville imo

If they want to expand to 16, could add 4 teams from the west and move Alabama/Auburn to the east.

Arkansas
LSU
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas AM

Might be better off splitting it up into 4 divisions if that happened. The East would be sick

They'd likely go 4 divisions in that case (10 conference games though might be a possibility in your presented case though)
