I have read since the NC St game that the 3 man front always has given us fits, especially in the 3/3/5 Ark ran. Some said they even got in a 3/2 front and we check go a run but. Old not block the interior,

I don’t understand why we don’t have some type of counter option and attack the outside, to keep the defense line and LBs somewhat honest, at least make them take a second or two to try to read what is going on.

I know they want to protect Nico, but at some point and time they are going to have to make a defense respect the QB run and take a chance.

Pretty sure Florida runs a 3•3•5, but we’ll have them on film and be ready unlike Arkansas. Hopefullly

Heupel will need to open up the playbook against Florida and take some deep shots to open up the defense for the run game.

From what I saw last night we can't give Nico enough time before the pocket collapses to throw deep. He spent quite a bit of time stepping up and having to run or rolling out looking for someone.

You can't (or only a few can) throw deep while rolling out and it's hard to get a solid plant to throw deep when you step up and have to worry about people behind you.

The 3 3 5 defense is a defense which can revolve into almost any defense to stop a play as it starts. However, offenses can grain yards against it if you don’t miss blocks and don’t have penalties. Our execution on offense was just too inconsistent to maintain possession of the ball.Clean up the penalties and the missed blocks and we can win the rest of the games. It is up to the coaches and the players.

In addition, it creates confusion on identifying who to block. That happened a lot last night.

Not criticizing but Arky played a 3-2-6 with 6 D Backs last night sending a linebacker blitzing from one side or another the whole first half, took away any chance at throwing downfield and we could not adjust. This Defense has never been run by Arky before and was installed just for Vols. Second half they went back to some 4 man front depending on down, we never adjusted. They outplayed us and out schemed us, they wanted it more. Just look at some of those deep balls last night from Arky-our d back in almost perfect position but the accuracy of the passes was uncanny perfect. They out schemed, out played us last night. They wanted it more, we had a chance-just could not execute. Tough position for a young QB last night, but will inevitably make him better.

That was exactly the problem last night. Deep shots. Nico doesn’t have time for deep shots. Heupel better be finding a way to be successful with some mid range calls. Not everything has to be a home run.

Why is it that every single year since time immemorial it seems that we always have OL issues? Remember how bad are OLs were from 2013-2022? But why? Every damn year what do we worry about? Depth in the OL and development in the OL.

Seems like it doesn’t matter who the coach is either. Except 2022. Seemed like it was good that year. I wish Heupel would spend some serious cash and try to get like Michigans OL coach or another big time OL coach.

You’re right about the deep balls Arky threw. DB was in position but the throw was perfect. When 💩 like that happens you know it’s not your night

Hendon hooker makes an oline look good. Especially with Cedric Tillman and JH to throw to.

Someone mentioned it, but I’ll say it again. Go into 12 personnel and you attack the LBs with over the short to intermediate throws to your RBs and TEs. That should soften the middle and open up your vertical game to attack their Cover 3. Since UCF, Heupel seemingly has done nothing to understand the 3-3-5. Tulsa wore him out. This weekend went from a revenge game to a must win. Pressure has switched back to the home team in a big way.

Yes. Not too many teams if any have dominant Olines, the QB and scheming up some stuff to help it out makes it look much better. Good coaches figure out where the help is needed and scheme around it. I've not seen that so far in SEC play. I thought OU was just a hiccup, but the same things happened again last night. Plenty of really good defenses coming up. They have to do better than that or this won't end well.

Imo gona have to do more roll out passing, and keep ol from going to far down in the play.

CJH only runs up the middle, makes it easy when the D knows you're not going to attack the edges.

This needs to change.
Actually with a light box, up the middle is the “path of least resistance”. If everyone gets just a decent block, the play should pop.

That’s what I was thinking all night. We have 3 talented TEs. Where is Ethan Davis? Samp was being used in blocking a lot. But it seems they could have used some slip screens and I don’t remember one called all night.

So where were our week points on the OL? Was it one or two players or just the whole unit? With Heard, Campbell, and Mays; we should be able to at least pop a few good run plays

I dont understand why our offensive guru cant seem to build on his aggressive offensive calling and why we are regressing each game.
