Attendance down 15%

I'm more interested in knowing what actual attendance is or a concession sales comparison.

Paid attendance isn't a very good gauge because there are lots of season ticket holders who only show for the big games.

Obviously with the students gone for X-mas break, the student section has basically been empty for the past month. THat will change Dec. 11 when they return. At the same time, winning would definitely increase attendance, but let's not hang the expectation that this team, even with Stokes, will finish above .500 this year. Next season, they should be much improved (only lose Woolridge and Tatum) and could add another high profile recruit (Charles Mitchell maybe??). Still need a PG though.....
Thats about a 12 month break for students.:whistling:

Winning. All teams have bandwagon fans and we are no different. When it's smooth sailing and were beating the Kentucky's and Florida's of the world, their swimming. Go .500 and those same fans are watching bowling or professional tennis. :p

We don't have any superstars at the moment. When the superstar emerges attendance will pick up.

Thanks. I might go back and average the before Christmas games last year and compare them to this year to see if there is much of a difference sometime today. I bet its not near 15% .

That is really the only way to compare the numbers.

Interesting story about attendance. I just came back from a Memphis Grizzlies game. The Grizzlies are undoubtedly in a much bigger market than the Vols, and are coming off an historic playoff run last year where the whole city got involved. The announced attendance tonight in the FedEx Forum? 12-13k. Should put things in perspective when a professional sports franchise (indeed, the only major professional sports franchise in the city) can't draw more than that despite having recent success and catching fire.
