Attendance this Sat. 92K?

Not so much a sign of the times as it is a sign of the rivalry. Especially from UF's perspective.

I feel we are going to get that "big" win this year. I do remember the "Clausen" days when we ran roughshot on Bama, Fla, Ga and USCe. Our time is coming. GBO

GBO. I would have to say actual "butts in chairs" will be around 65,000. Did anyone else notice the empty seats at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium? Wow, times have changed.

Yep, it's not just us. Granted I do think part of it sadly is UF doesn't see us a big game anymore, but if you watch games around the country (and NFL), you'll see more and more empty seats. It's been worse for MLB.

Taking my son to the game for his 12th birthday. Paid up for the Tennessee Terrace seating. We're gonna have a blast. GO VOLS. VFL family!

Some of you understand that they get the attendance by the number of tickets scanned by the handheld devices and not just come up with a guess right

Don't have tickets, but my guess would be low 70's. I had thought about going, but the 12:21 kickoff and opening of hunting season are the reasons I'm not going. I'll watch it on tv in between hunts.

I believe they get attendance numbers by the number of tickets SOLD, not by the number scanned at the gates.

Usually when they announce attendance at games you can clearly see that there are no where near that many people actually there.

Excuse? I have a 12 week old baby and split my season tickets with a friend, so I can spend time at home with my wife and kid and not be gone each week. We already have purchased season tickets, and my friend is going with his son this weekend... I don't understand why you "can't buy this excuse." Don't be a jackass.

Bazinga!

If you have a good reason why you can't be there then that's fine, but these dumba$$es who are already calling for a new coach, don't like what they see on the field, etc., etc. etc, are the ones that really pi$$ me off more than anything. This team needs our support just as much, if not more, when times are bad as when they are good. You're either all Vol, or you're not a Vol at all imo. I wish we could recruit some new fans.

I agree, but they are by far the minority, they're just more vocal than the 98% of the real, logical, Vol fans. It's a shame really, but it's a sign of the times I suppose.

Hopefully you're right about the 98% being logical, and real fans. But, yes, it really is a shame. This one idiot called in to a radio station this morning, and made me so angry. Luckily the next 2 callers really got on his case.

or 86K and they try and call it 92?..How many have been sold thus far anyone know?.. We are flying up from Florida for the game to meet some friends and roll with the Vol Navy.

Sold vs. butts in the seats will be a big difference. So, if we're counting butts in the seats I'm guessing 77,000 or so.

The "fans" whining & complaining about everything are the same ones that call in to radio & TV sports talk shows & let the rest of the world know they're brainless. I try to overlook them & know all schools have these ignorant people. I heard bummer fans were crying because they didnt rush for 100 yards & only beat Colorado St by 2-3 touchdowns! You can't fix stupid!

The sad thing is Neyland being a huge home field has become some what of a joke. I understand the program has been down but there's plenty of people who call themselves VFL's who really aren't

65 to 70k including the rats n birds that they can count in the stadium...

u will have mostly students n locals that have season tickets but the folks that usually travel n make it a weekend i.e. the other 30k thats driving the ktown economy during football will not show up.

Incorrect, my friends are driving in from Nashville and we are coming across from NC. Coming Thursday so can eat at old haunts, visit campus and drive to mountains b4 gameday. A trip to the bookstore is always a treat. To alums, a trip to K town is a reminder of schoold days no matter how old. Cannot wait to get to stadium and hear 'please pay no more'.Will be back for USC later in year.
