Attendance

Yeah I'd be there too but I'm poor and live 4 hours away. Still try to make a game or two every year. But yeah. Attendance was weak.

It's a fact that there is a direct correlation between on field performance and butts in the seats.

Truth hurts doesn't it? Whether you like it or not some feel the price of the ticket doesn't match the product on the field.
Oh, I misunderstood then. I thought the argument was always that our attendance is pathetic. I guess it's really like a badge of honor then?

87,000 announced. anybody believe that? I turned on the game toward the end of the second quarter. if the announced number is anywhere near accurate, I figure that Neyland has been expanded to 150,000. I must have missed that article.

I hear the argument that butch can't make chicken salad out of chicken crap. People are tired of paying top dollar for chicken crap. The only entitlement I see is a university taking fandom for granted no matter what product they put on the field.

If you feel it's your duty to eat the chicken crap while they're telling you it's chicken salad then by all means enjoy. But I wouldn't be so judgmental to others that have higher expectations.

You and I think nothing alike. I go because I love Tennessee.

87k????? No way, no how. Huge empty areas throughout the upper deck, spotty areas below. I was in the Terrace and it was maybe 2/3 full. A positive: we sat with all the coaches' wives and got to hear some nice perspective. Very friendly group of ladies, and they seem to be enjoying Knoxville.

No we're not different at all. I love the Vols. I just have higher expectations than you. If everyone continues throwing money over there, supporting an AD where their sole motivation is the bottom line, they have no reason to do anything about it. It pains me to no end to see my Vols in such bad shape.

I would go to every game if I didn't have to foot the gas bill from SC to TN

Hate to break it to you but if you can't afford gas you'll be hard pressed to afford season tickets.

It did seem a lot hotter than 77. The whole right side of my face is burned.

Expectations have nothing to do with it. He's five games into his first year.

If you think that boycotting the games is somehow going to help the future of UT football, I wish you would change allegiances.

I've forgotten. Is this year considered Year Zero or are we going with Year -4 to account for Dooley's incompetence for 3 years, while throwing in another gimmee year for good measure?

If you keep shoving dollar bills into fat stripper's thongs, they will continue stripping. If you stop, they might go on a diet, get in shape, and THEN continue stripping because they want the money in their thongs again.

This is called "science".

You do realize we fired the Dooley staff, right? Have you seen the talent level CBJ is trying to coach?

And in 3 years when this coach fails, will you be saying the same thing? I'm sick and tired of the years of excuses. It's been the coach's fault at UT since 2005, and that's being conservative with my blame. We're working on a decade of an endless whiner's list of excuses.

IF the staff doesn't succeed, then I will be calling for a change. You have to give them a chance though. Hope that we can keep the recruiting class together and look for improvement. That's all we have right now.

So you think the way to ensure that we hire a top-shelf coach next time is to bankrupt the program with a boycott first? Brilliant.
