Attention: McBee Haters

If he is on the court, I expect him to produce just like any other kid out there. Regardless of background, hustle, etc.

I am by no means trying to say that he should get a free pass, but the bottom line is he came in and helped the team through some tough times. I know that we live in a society that is all about "what have you done for me lately?" but this is mainly addressing the people on here that are bashing him.

if mcbee is not draining 3's he is useless. so unless he shoots at least 33% from 3, he needs to sit. he is a liability on defense and is one dimensional on offense.

No one is bashing McBee. They are just simply stating the truth, and that is that Cam Tatum is much, much better right now than McBee.

Kid is 100% focused out there I can tell you that. His physical skills are not up to SEC par and he's young. Gotta love him, especially after hearing from coaches + players @ work ethic and the fact he chose to forego schollys to walk on here.

Nevertheless, my big problem is with the freakin' news media that is (as usual) looking to hype a paper-selling story and launch the underdog as fan favorite because .... wait for it .... he's white. Worked for Dane and they are hoping the same here. JMO.

It doesn't matter how hard he works. If he keeps making dumb decisions then he needs to ride the bench, and by the way how did he get the reputation as a shooter. He is at best our fifth best shooter.

1-6 from 3 tonight. There were 3 straight possessions where he just jacked up a 3 and ended that possession before it started. I don't care if it's a walk-on or scholarship player doing that, it's ridiculous.

3 for 20 on 3s since Kansas and he is a walkon for a reason,he might hustle but it translate into either missed 3s ,fouls or turnovers. If you havent already noticed and Im sure most have,he plays out of control or just panics.
Tatum since he is back on the team him and Mcbee needs to switch places, tatum on the floor and mcbee on the bench.he might turn out to be a decent player but its not going to be his freshmen year.

I remember a play nt to many years ago, the year before Pearl, my buddies and I would call him Lame Bradshaw. And low and behold, he turned out to be a very respectable player. (never a great shooter), but a player that would out work and out hustle anyone on the court, night in and night out. He aws n top of every loose ball, watched more film, and was is Bball IQ was unparralled amost that roster. I look at Skylar to be the same type of player. Only major difference, is Dane was a good defender. But that only comes with minutes played.

Bruce needs to tell him we appreciate the hustle, we really do. But at some point it's pretty damn imperative to guard someone.

If Cam Tatum, Scotty Hopson, Melvin Goins, Bobby Maze had half the hustle and heart this kid Mcbee had we would not be having this conversation cause Mcbee would be on the bench. It is not a black/white thing its about working hard. The fact is we have a bunch of kids who are very talented but extremely LAZY.

Sure, Skylar's been struggling from behind the arc, but I feel like his passing and free throw shooting ability are often overlooked. It's rare that you'll see him make an errant pass and more often than not his passes set up a scoring opportunity for a teammate.

lets see , he can't handle the ball, he can't defend, he hits a shot once every solar eclipse, well on the plus side we don't have to worry about him hanging on the rim. don't waste the scholly Bruce, Maryville College needs a "shooter"!

That from a sixth grader!!!!!! STFU!! Calling a kid useless that is a freshman walkon shows your complete ignorance. Tell us all, of your grand accomplishments.... thats what I thought!!!!

Spoken like a true coach who understands the game

Skylar McBee should be given an applause everytime he steps on the court. He turned down full rides to come to UT as a walk on. His parents are forking out tuition, books, room and board etc etc.....

This kid reminds me of Lee Humphrey when he was a freshman at Florida. If he becomes a dead eye like Humphrey was, Tennessee will be in good shape

Mabe he could smoke a little weed before the next game like Tatum and Goins. Obviously no one else on the team is burning it up from 3 line so leave the kid alone. He has great fundamentals ,a great work ethic and keeps his nose clean. Give him a chance and he will work his way into a legitimate outside threat. Unbelievable how many people want to throw a good kid under the bus and replace him with a thug for their instant gratification.

You know, I like the good guy stories as much as anyone. But the kid is playing like garbage right now. He should be treated just like any other player. With that said I understand the love affair, who doesn't want a local kid to play well and make a name? But there comes a time when you've got to call a spade a spade.

And as far as the applause thing, with that logic we should also applaud every student who walks in whose parents are paying for their tuition or are getting loans up to their eyeballs.

Who said he needed to be replaced by a thug?

Bingo! Those shots were rushed, there wasn't even anyone under the basket to even attempt to get the rebound.

Shots like that are momentum killers.

when your sole purpose for being on the floor or team for that matter is to be burning it up from the 3 you need to remember to push in the child lock on the lighter. what else does the kid have in his arsenal?

I didnt play the thug card...

Yall are right we should have never given whitey a scholly.........Oh wait

He is what he is. Guantee you this, he was encouraged to take those shots.(Maybe not as quickly into the shot clock) But that's what he is out there for. He has a (greenish-yellow) light to shoot. Ill say this, if he makes one or two of the three- there is a " Mcbee needs more PT" thread this morning.
Haha - Unbelievable
