Auburn AD to resign

Auburn isn’t the same appeal now that everyone else can pay players. History says whenever Auburn has won big, probation followed closely behind.

If Harsin has a great year somehow, which would be a borderline miracle at this point, he's just going to leverage it into any other HC job he can get. Just like he tried to do following last season. Zero chance he is back under any circumstance.

They should be able to win 8-9 games which I think makes him safe. If he drops a home game bad, the Uhauls will start that night.

Saban is a great coach. I’m not questioning that at all but he has been very fortunate in that his tenure at Bama coincided with the 15 years of complete mismanagement (even he said such when Precious was coach) at Tennessee, one of their main competitors. Now Auburn, who’s beat him most, is in a similar pattern. Firing a good AD for not hiring their coach can’t be good. What guy would take that job? A complete slime ball that would work for slime balls

Just curious about who are some realistic candidates for the next head coach at Auburn, because it's painfully obvious that Harsin is not going to return.

Not looking to get blasted, being sincere, but interested in opinions if they will target a current head coach (such as a Lane Kiffin, Jamey Chadwell, Jeff Treadwell, Dave Doeren, Mark Stoops (please don't laugh), or maybe Dave Arnada) or do they go after a top Power 5 coordinator (like a Jeff Lebby, Bill O'Brien, Todd Monken, Alex Grinch, or maybe Josh Gattis) or maybe its someone sitting out right now? I didn't include Matt Campbell or Luke Fickell because it appears that they lean Big 10 but who knows? Money talks.

Part of the reason Auburn has had the level of dysfunction they do is because Saban is at Alabama, and a big part of why Auburn has been so inconsistent historically is because Alabama is their in-state rival. They are always feeling pressure to push the envelope to keep up with them. Given how dominant Saban has been, Auburn has actually held their own pretty well against Saban - they've beaten him 5 times. Not even LSU has had that much success against him (they've beaten him just 4).

The rest of the SEC has not been bad since Saban got to Alabama. LSU has won 2 national titles and played for another, Auburn won a national title and played for another, UGA won a national title and played for another, and UF won a title. Just imagine how dominant Saban would be if he coached in the Pac 12, ACC, or Big 12 for all these years.

Harsin is as good as gone. Urban Meyer or Lane Kiffin will be the next coach at Auburn
I could see kiffin taking that job. Although he may want to be more patient and wait for a better opportunity. Auburn is looking like a tough place to succeed at with all the crazy boosters

Whatever happened with the Auburn coach supposedly having a girlfriend working for him?

I am going to say it is absolutely NOT going to be Dave Aranda.

The Berenstain Bears, Nicolas Cage and the fascinating mind of Baylor's Dave Aranda

TL;DR? He just signed an extension at Baylor through 2029. He is a cerebral, introverted, control freak of a gentle soul.

Tell me this sounds like a man that would put up with Auburn?
