I guess that wasn't clear, was it? I always think of the championship as the game for some reason. Confusing, I know. Regardless, my point isn't whether or not Bruce could get them winning. In all likelihood he could do it. The problem is that they will have to pay him a substantial amount more than, you know, a real basketball program would.

The first time he waltz's into TBA and beats our Vols the tone will be quite different. Then when he repeatedly does it...well you can figure out the rest...Because its going to happen....most don't think that far ahead....its really a no win situation we are in....People scream and want him back.....people scream and want to move on....and when reality sets in...well...just no winners as far as UT goes....

Auburn may be the only open job in the SEC this year. Alabama has just announced that they will keep Grant.

Not even close to what Auburn is.

At least 2 of Peterson's teams should have been NCAAT teams if not 3. That's how bad of a coach he was. His last team wasn't 14-17 bad. Plus he inherited a program that had been to the NCAAT the 4 previous seasons. Auburn hasn't sniffed the dance in over a decade.

To be fair.... I wish Lebron would leave Miami so you can cheer for another team. This is coming from someone who likes you.

How can you follow a great player from team to team and then be upset when fans want a great coach for a single team they've always cheered for? Prove me wrong and remain a Heat fan when Lebron leaves. Your NBA team(s) will always be good cause you're coat tailing an all-time great. I'm going to remain a Vol fan and in doing so, I hope we get a coach who doesn't suck ass.

Almost their entire board signed up in 2013. 90% signed up after 2011 when the big 3 formed. You coattail Lebron from team to team but then call out UT fans who want a quality coach for the only team they cheer for? I call hypocrite.

I'll just say that I do love Pearl and I do hate Lebron. I have nothing against you Ben, I think you're awesome. But yeah... while I want Pearl back, I'm still going to be a Tennessee fan if he goes somewhere else. We've established that you won't be a Cavs or Heat fan if Lebron goes somewhere else. I'm just saying that your comment seems hypocritical. You're obsessed with Lebron but then get upset when UT fans are obsessed with Pearl... like I said... most Tennessee fans aren't going to become a fan of another school that Pearl is hired by. You've admitted you're a fan of any team Lebron plays for. That's most Heat fans. Bandwagon.

Wanting Pearl back doesn't make you a bandwagon Pearl fan. You're only a bandwagon fan if you become a fan of the team he goes to. I just hope it's Tennessee. If he goes somewhere else, I won't be a fan of that team.

Edit: You wouldn't tell Cavs fans who want Lebron back to shut the hell up, would you? They remained Cavs fans after he left. They just want to win.

Short of hiring Phil Jackson, there's no reason to fear Auburn basketball. The new arena doesn't change its status as a bottom 3 job in the SEC. No one wants to play basketball there who didn't already grow up an AU fan, or who couldn't get any better offers.
