I realize that Billy is over the top. But has anyone else noticed that a lot of people aren't taking UT seriously for next year? How can they not see what we have?

I'm loving our schedule... If we get past Auburn in week 2 we'll be 7 - 0 going into the Bama game.

Jackson State
Auburn
@ Troy
South Alabama
@ Kentucky
Tennessee
Middle Tennessee
@ Alabama
Texas A&M
@ Louisiana State
Arkansas
@ Ole Miss

Why is Miss State better than last year?

Nobody thought we would be good 2 years ago when we went 9-4 and mutilated Michigan in the Gator Bowl in front of the entire nation. Mullen has made us a power house I just hope he stays for a while.

Come on guys... He didnt mean a powerhouse by UT standards, he means powerhouse by State standards... Aka: Gator Bowl Champs.

Looks like we have 2 very different ideas on what equates to being a "powerhouse"... And you have, and never will be one.

9 wins that included great victories over memphis, Alcorn State, Houston, UAB, Kentucky, Ole miss, and one of the worst georgia (6-7) and Florida( 8-5) teams in the last couple of decades........

I respect Tennessee. I've heard my dad talk about how y'all used to be really good. Doesn't change the fact that we should beat yall this year.

:eek:lol:

MSU's last title was in the beginning of WWII. If UT "used to be really good" doesn't that make MSU "never been good"?

Your memory deletes anything other than the previous 5 or so years?

Trollolololololol

<---Both parent's graduated from State. I've been to almost as many State games as UT games. 90% of my family is from MS. I've grown up watching/talking/hearing about State football as much as UT football......

That said, I'll concede this:

Dan Mullen is likely the best coach I have seen in my 33 years....at State.
He's done a damn good job so far...but has yet to eclipse what Sherrill did in his tenure (SECCG).
Recruiting has been much better under Mullen.

That being said...I've seen a few State fans proclaim that next year's team is going to be much improved over last year's....how??

You have the fewest returning starters of any SEC school (tied with Mizzou)
You STILL don't have a QB...seriously Russell is barely serviceable.
You're replacing both Safeties.
You lost a lot of talent on the DL....
Even if you had WR's who were more than "ok," who's going to throw it to them?

EDIT: ...and you lost 3 starters on the OL, IIRC.
