I know this has nothing to do with Tennessee football but I think maybe sometimes we have to stand aside from football rivalries and take a look at life itself. I’m speaking in particular about Auburn University Head Coach and his decision on making public his vaccination status. USA Today did an article which vilified him and his decision to keep this information private. My question to this board and realize I’m just curious….at what point do we as citizens stop caving in to a government so willing to control your lives? This mandate has people losing their jobs, their homes, everything they have worked for so hard their lives.
I emailed the author this:
Your column about his privacy on the vaccine is disgusting. Do you understand people fought and died, gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy in this nation?

Why ? Why are you so willing to trade your freedom for a false sense of security from a government who has no interest in your well being?

Why are you so willing to submit to accepting a vaccine which has no medical history of success and the makers of such have been given absolute immunity from any and all lawsuits that will probably be brought against them once people start having repercussions from taking a vaccine that has not been approved by the FDA ?

Do you not understand what you are surrendering to the government? What are you willing to accept the next time maybe a mark on your hand or your forehead in order to buy or sell?

Can you honestly not see what this is leading to? And yet you’re worried about a college kid worries about what his coaches image is?

I for one would be absolutely proud that my coach understands what basic liberties are, I would be proud he understands what his rights as an American citizen are and I would publicly declare my support for him as an individual to choose what to do with his own medical decisions.

You on the other hand are a disgrace as a man, you’re a disgrace as a person, you are a disgrace to your news profession. The news media above and beyond all others should be blasting out full volume about how unconstitutional this mandate is and has become.

I am so sorry that you as a reporter don’t have the intestinal fortitude to stand up for individual citizens to make choices for themselves and for their families and their children.

Shame on you sir, shame on you. I’m quite sure that somewhere back along the line someone in your family surrendered their life for the freedoms we once enjoyed and yet here your spineless self stands, weak kneed and gutless. What shame, what dishonor you bring to their sacrifice. What a shame, what a shame.
what do you folks think?? I’m just curious to where we as a nation stand.

I agree 100%. This is not a country governed by the people...we’ve handed over all power, freedom and liberties to our corrupt government and controlled, propagandistic media and academia. Debate and questioning is combatted with censoring and/or defamation, demonizing with a “ist” or “ism”....it’s a sad world and getting worse...

You should read Blake Toppmeyer response!!
He is so far removed from reality.

“Bryan Harsin isn't engaging in any sacrifice. He's engaging in selfishness.

He's not putting the man next to him first. He's putting himself first.

And he's creating a wholly unnecessary distraction for the football team he's paid handsomely to lead.”

Wow just the other day a surgeon lost his job not because he refused the vaccine because he did take it but he lost his job because he stated people have the right to make their own decision.

The mask, the vaccine, BLM, CRT. See it for what it is: a way to divide the populace. Mao did it in the 60's during the "cultural revolution". Inform on your neighbors and get an extra loaf of bread this month.

Gov't and State should have no say, just like they should have no say in whether or not a woman decides to get an abortion. Wearing a mask, especially indoors, should be the only requirement. It's pretty eye opening seeing how sociopathic people become when the 'anti-vax' and 'vax' crowds go at it. On Reddit these folks are sharing last posts from anti-vaxxers before they died and laughing it up. Hive mind is a scary thing.

It’s the dumbest thing in the world to force someone to get something that doesent work just so they can work.

I know the vaccine works just from the numbers of vaccinated vs unvaccinated coming into the hospital and severity of those cases. That said I don’t know what else the vaccine does and I’m fine with anyone that doesn’t want it not taking it.

The major issue I have is the ignorance of both sides of this. People that chose to not get the vaccine should be informed then make that choice.

Curious to know your thoughts if someone is a direct care provider (x-ray techs, nurses, doctors, etc) in a hospital setting. Do you want someone providing care to you, or your child/family member, if they haven't been vaccinated? Knowing that they see 25 or more patients a day. Including outpatients, inpatients and ER patients. Not knowing if the patients they've seen are vaccinated. The provider does care for, and come in contact with COVID+ patients.

Not particularly.

Considering almost every healthcare worker has either had Covid or been vaccinated or both, I don’t see the issue. The question is if you’re so worried about the family member why haven’t they been vaccinated?

My reason for asking was due to the amount of folks that posted before me who said people shouldn't be forced to be vaccinated to keep their jobs. I was curious if those people would want to be taken care of by people who aren't vaccinated and are around those who are COVID+.

I work in healthcare. So just wondering if that would give some of those who don't believe it should be mandatory something to think about, or where would they draw the line. I've been vaccinated since January. Got COVID in June. Got my booster today.

We’re seeing shortages of healthcare workers now partially bc of the mandate at least in my area. The mandate lowered the standard of care in most hospitals would be my guess due to understaffing instead of making people safer.
