Auburn Reporting Adams Has Flipped

My understanding is we backed off him because we were more interested in his teammate Menzie, who cooled on us, no?

we were very high on this kid. he is a stud TE, great hands and a nasty blocker.

Are you sure we were really high on this kid? I remember reading where after Wilson left or when Menzie dropped us I forget that he said he hadn't heard from us, you'd think if we were high on him we would've made the effort to call, not a big loss IMO if we can keep delvin jones

I'm pretty sure we were the only school recruiting him as a TE. LOL. We just lost the next Jason Witten.

The sky is falling!

It may have been the other board and it may have be wishful thinking by myself.... I think CFW might have been his biggest supporter here.... Someone said somewhere, that there might be a reason we are the only team recruiting him as a tight end... Who knows though...

Ken Adams was the only get for Frank Wilson.

The other was his relative who is now not coming to TN.

Lane Kiffin got suckered completely and Frank Wilson will end up doing much more for LSU for the money TN payed him this year than he ever did for TN.

Do not accept someone who cannot do anything for his first year in recruiting...particularly if they are not staying any longer than that.

He may have his only get this year but Wilson and O were a big reason we got Jackson. I thought Wilson had a great year coaching WR's.

From my blog on Thursday.

If you have not yet heard, Dequan Menzie has dropped the Vols from consideration in the latest WTF move in recruiting. Look for him to land in Auburn.

Menzie’s teammate, Ken Adams is a possibility to join him at Auburn. I get the impression that we offered Ken Adams in order to sway Menzie. The fact that he is a position we were looking to fill just made the deal more doable. Now Adams is saying he has not heard from the staff since Wilson’s departure. Coincidentally that coincided fairly closely with Menzie dropping UT. A visit is supposed to be scheduled for Friday. If that visit is not made, that would speak volumes about where the coaches are in terms of accepting Adams’ commitment. We are basically the only team offering Adams as a TE. Maybe there is a reason…

We didn't really need Adams if we get Delvin Jones. Remember we are 3 deep with Stocker, Bartholomew, and Adderly. We can use the scholarship better at another position.

I don't mean to sound like this is a sour grapes situation but who cares? I think we can get a better recruit to fill that scholarship. Same deal with Riggs, we really wanted to land that small a CB no matter how highly he is rated?

More importantly, what's going on with his teammate...Menzie? I think not having Adams committed may hurt us with his. Who knows...

Kiffin is happy that Wilson is gone. Something about not working hard enough. Wilson saw the writing on the wall.

Coaches are still targeting a traditional TE in this class. No guarantee that Delvin ends up there.
