Like I said, one can't argue AU's success over that time period. I'm just saying that picking a specific date because it maximizes your argument isn't hard and fast evidence of a the state of affairs.

Like I said, we could take the last 20 years and the facts shift. Aren't recent events more significant?

The facts really don't shift that much if you just look at the past 20. Auburn still is at parity with Alabama over that time period. Again - that's the point.

If one looks only at 1998, UT is the best college program ever.

Actually, the bloggers point was that AU has been slightly better.
