That's some of the best highlight footage of a QB I can ever recall seeing. I hope the kid can live up to it.

Some observations I made from this....

1. He's elusive, but he's small. He probably won't be able to do that in the SEC with any rate of success as much as he does in his film.

2. He's great at throwing receivers open. He looks like he understands the quarterback position very well.

3. He always keeps his eyes up field. It's amazing to see him spin away from pressure and still find an open receiver with the defense breathing down his neck.

4. He's got a big arm.

5. He's accurate.

I like this guy a lot. Glad he's a Vol!

This has been said about Russel Wilson and Manziel in college but they were okay. He definitely will be taught to slide more but he seems to be smart with his options even in High School. And 6'2 200 isn't really small. Also just a junior. I agree with all other things tho

Saw we were recruiting him and asked someone last week to go w/me to see him play at Cuthbertson High and wear Tennessee orange.

I actually live about 7 miles from Cuthbertson High School in Waxhaw, NC. Riley Ferguson played in Matthews, NC---about 15 miles away. Of course, Ferguson is gone, but quite a coincidence that the Vols recruited and got two quarterbacks in such close proximity to each other--- Matthews is a bit smaller than Johnson City, TN. Waxhaw (Where Austin Kendall is from) is bigger than Jonesborough, TN but they remind me of each other, especially their downtown areas.

I'm planning on dropping by the high school one Friday in October and watching him play.

Very true. Kid looks like a gamer that likes to duck his head is all I'm getting at.

Agreed. Don't want to many huge hits but seems like his the "it" factor and Football I.Q. To be successful.( Not just a good thrower in essence)

Matthews is a suburb of Charlotte and part of the Mecklenburg County metropolitan Charlotte area. Waxhaw is about 15 miles from Matthews but I don't know what competition they play. It is a very nice town and a little further from Charlotte. Do you know the level of competition Austin is facing?

Glad to see such highly praised early commits. But its hard to get excited when this guy wont even be on campus for another two years and probably wont start for a season or two after that.

A ton can happen between now and then.

But, its more good news about CBJ ability to recruit.

Can't believe no one is ragging about a name only thread, or taking about how he even looks like Johnny football lol

In trying to find out the level of competition he's faced, I found something even more interesting. He DIDN'T play at Cuthbertson last season, but did year before last. He played at Charlotte Christian last season. In what this article says is a "major surprise", he has transferred BACK to Cuthbertson. Here is the article:

Union Co schools has done some very ugly school redistricting in the last few years and did it again this year. Transferring to Charlotte Christian probably kept him out of Sun Valley(bad) or Monroe(worst).

No kiddin'! I thought we were going to have parent revolution a few months back. I'm in Union Co., but my kids are all grown, thankfully. Good thinking about the reasons for transferring to Charlotte Christian! I'm sure you're right----he and his parents are looking out for his future.

The competition wasn't that great, but it wasn't terrible. Here is a link to last years schedule he played. However, they finished ranked 3rd in the state, and 177th nationally.

Just watched his video.

The kid heaves the ball he doesn't throw it.

On a side note he looks much taller and pretty slow.

You forgot to mention the fiber content in his septic tank.

While you were wallowing down there...you stool!

nice!

But on his video I saw no ropes.

His intangibles are off the chart.

He rainbows them in there man.

All his throws are rainbows.

Maybe I'm just cannon biased...

I think you're the first ever UK poster I've seen on VN

A few of the older ones aren't very active and only post in the "around the NCAA" section. But yeah, I'm probably the most active by far. I used to post 30+ times a day. Slowed down with school and stuff but still very alive.

He's a LOT more relevant during basketball season.

I've seen better. Keep trying though buddy.
