There are times when I am glad to have his mass in the paint. But I think his offensive negatives outweigh the positives when he consitently misses minimally contested or wide open looks from 3 ft. The only way he makes it is if his arm is a foot through the rim and he misses half of those. I say more minutes for Hall and be done with Williams. I don"t see him developing futher than what he is now and thats a problem next year with Chism gone.

You realize he had a double-double tonight, right? I'd be happy if he had 0 points and 13 rebounds; that's his role.

But yeah, I'm hoping his touch around the basket develops with experience. Hell, I wish he'd just be aggressive and kill the rim.

The obligatory seek out a player's weakness thread after a win. I was getting worried Volnation might give the team a pass after this win.

Your points are well taken and valid but I also think you could have put Pat Summit on the floor against Miss State today and she would have had a double double. Seriously I hope the guy can continue to advance his skills but he has a bunch of work to do.

Pat Summit could get a triple double on anybody. She'd just glare them all into submission.

Hey I'm as happy as any fan about a tough win on the road. This is nothing more than an observation a 6'10" post that waste a lot of touches because of lack of skills. His numbers over the last 2 years tell the tale.

Anybody care to complain about JP? Or perhaps CBP decision to put Woolridge in... that must make him a bad coach somehow. Tennessee fans are the most negative fans in the dang country. We won by a sizable amount. Get over the negatives because no one here is the UT coach. k thanks

sorry op, but i got to disagree with you. williams isnt our main scorer because he is not supposed to be. he is there to block shots and get rebounds, nothing more. so far id say hes done a good job and we play better with him than without.

Funny - Pat Summit could have gotten a double-double vs. MSU tonight - yet Wayne Chism couldn't even make 1 basket.

My only problem with Big Baby is the lay up. He needs to just go ahead and jam them in. Don't even shoot. I was so happy for him tonight. What a freakin' effort.

Calm down and go take your medication. This thread had nothing to do with todays win or criticism of the team as a whole or about CBP. Its about a Tenn. Fan's opinion of an under performing post player. Las time I looked this was a Tenn. basketball forum. What else do you suggest that we post on here. Go play on the chess forum or somewhere else.

This thread is stupid, wrong and should disappear.

Did you even read it Hoss? It simply said that Hall should get more minutes than Williiams bcause of his offensive production. If you don't think thats a valid critique thats fine, Otherwise post something of substance or you can disappear

not only did you say hall should get his minutes, you said Williams should be done with. Some games we need his rebounding over what Hall brings to the table don't ya think. So dont say he should be done with then retract and say Hall should get some extra minutes because all of these people are making more valid posts than you.

Did you watch the game Hoss? Williams was 5/7 from the floor. 10 points. 13 rebounds. Doesn't get much better than that from a role player.

Seriously though, as I'm watching the game tonight I'm thinking to myself "Gosh, I wonder who's gonna have a thread made about them tonight after the game talking about how bad they are." I definitely didn't think it would be Big Brian. He had the best game of his Vol career tonight. :good!:

I wish we could have a game where you can come on here afterward and not see threads criticizing every mistake a player makes.

It's about a Tenn fan's opinion who doesn't understand the roles of the players on the team he supports...Williams isn't out there to lead the team offensively, he's out there to defend in the paint and get boards...and as poor as his offensive game is he's actually significantly improved his game tons lately...you should recognize where he is now as opposed to where he was at the beginning of the year

Brian Williams has been one of the main reasons this team has been able to win the last 5 of 6 ball games. Hall just isnt physical enough yet.

I think he's playing his role on the team now better then ever. True he has a hard time putting it in the hole but in my opinion that's being more afraid of getting his shot blocked because he doesn't get off the ground very high. He actually plays under the rim more then over it . Especially for a 6' 10" guy. With that being said he does play his role of playing good but not great defense and rebounds pretty darn good. Hall on the other hand is more athletic and plays above the rim, has more offensive skills but isn't that good of a post defender yet. He will be but isn't there yet. I think we've got the best rotation we've had all season going right now and almost everyone has been a part of the success at one time or another. If you would have known of all the things that has happen to this team before and after the season started and was told they would be 23-7 and 11-5 would you have said I'll take it? I would have jerked their arm off taking it. This TEAM has had it's ups and downs but the ups far out weigh the downs and it's been the BEST coaching job by CBP by far by holding this thing together and completly changing his style to adapt to what he has. That's a sign of a great coach. All I can say is THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS for a job WELL DONE!!!!!
