Backsides expand while bleacher seats downsize

The seating is close but aren't they all?

You're probably right. Most stadiums with bleacher seating are going to be tight, but I don't think there's much doubt that Neyland is about the tightest squeeze you'll find.

I didn't "sit down" during a game until last year. :banghead:
Last year, I'd have opted to sit down too. On my couch. With the luxury of changing the channel. As it was for me, nobody would even show Tennessee games to begin with so I lucked out.

Dont worry..UT made my visit to the Swamp miserable the next yr...well that and the heat..thought it was bad enough to sit in all that rain in Neyland til I had to sit through a noon game at The Swamp.

Anyone who'd do the Gator Chomp should be plagued with 'skeeters' every game.

Playing in a 'Swamp' will get you bit.

Hopefully this will be 1998 Redux. :D

Sans national title? Hey, a beatdown of Florida in Gainesville works for me :aggressive:

I was watching that game at home with a buddy. It was raining outside and I decided to take the VHS tape out of the VCR, light in on fire, and toss it out into the street.

Literally

I don't think he was taking shots at anyone, just further commenting on how close together the seats are. You need a small child sitting beside you to have any room at all.

If you guys think Neyland is bad, you should try the Rose Bowl. Those seats are ridiculously narrow.

UT should do stadium seating like in the new upper deck. tough luck if you cant fit in the seat provided.!!!!!!!!!!!

"A Tennessee fan once suggested no stadium seat should be smaller than the width of the home-team coach’s butt"

If that were the case, there would only be 10 seats in the whole stadium. :pimp:

I would like to take this the vertical route.. It's also hard for taller people such as myself to sit with the little leg room allowed. Unless you're under the age of 10, you're just not going to have any space, vertical or horizontal.

I'm with you (also "vertically-gifted"), and I have the pleasure of having my slightly-framed wife giving me "booty room." I almost always have my knees in the back of the person in front of me, or I scoot back and am being gouged by somebody else's knobs. Doesn't bother me that much (as I'd PREFER to stand), but a few tight-wads seem to be upset awfully easily for a football game.

I agree. It would be so much easier if everybody would just agree to stand up during the game.

Notre Dame was considerably tighter - old wooden benches too.

You definitely get to know your neighbors at Neyland Stadium.

We ordered the perminate seat cushion with back rest for our two seats, and it works great for us. The people on the left of us always sell their tickets and we never know who or what will be there, but the permanently attached seat does lock in our little setting area, and keeps your neighbors from encroaching. It really works great.

We have those seats too. You're right, it does give a definite sense of space, but they sit you up too straight and it's kind of on the edge. For taller people like myself, it takes up considerable leg room sitting so forward.

But at least people aren't sitting in your space.

I hate when the people in front of me have those. :banghead: :biggrin2:

Sounds like jealousy to me
Jealous that I have to scoot back so that the people behind me have their knees in my back.

I am not jealous but I may be getting those this season......ok I am jealous.

If you can't beat them, join them.

Come over to the dark side freak.

I hate sitting in those. I bought some tickets one time with those seats and wound up being cramped the entire time. It was a UT-UGA game so there were very few chances to stand up and cheer and stretch for a little while.
