WCG . . . You've got to share your game day experience from Saturday afternoon with everyone. It's definitely one of the more surreal stories I've ever heard.
Well, only since you ask, my man.
I had the rare experience of sitting in the club level for yesterday's game. It was really neat. I can honestly say, I've never eaten Wild Salmon and Beef Tornadoes at a football game before.
Anyway, at half time I was walking around between the suites. I met the Lt. Govenor, a few other dignitaries that I politely smiled and shook hands with. As I walked by one of the tables I saw something, rather someone, that I was completely unprepared to encounter. After spending time with all of the "important" people of South Carolina, I had no idea that I would soon meet a man that none of these other schmo's could stack up to, much less stand in his shoes........period.
I stopped dead in my tracks only to behold the One, the Only...........the Nature Boy Ric Flair! I basically reverted to being a 14 year old on the spot. English probably sounded like my second language. Some how, some way, I was able to regain my composure and get off of the floor from the prostrate position I had fallen into, obviously an unconditional response of worship.
He was very friendly and talked with me for a few minutes. I told him that I'd read his book (GAVol's copy) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had to refrain myself from going back out later to ask him about his famous return to wrestling in Greenville, SC and his later showdown with Eric Bischoff in the WWE that he talks about in the book. I decided to give The Man his space as he had many admirers.
It was absolutely the icing on the cake to a great day of college football, even if we did "run the score up."
And by the way GA, as far as surreal experiences, this one just surpassed the run in I had with Blake Mitchell's sister last year, which I thought was totally impossible.
