Bama and Saban

Here's a thought to ponder on how many years of not winning it all would it take before the gumps give him the Bobby Bowden treatment? I think 3 maybe 4 (now that would be glorious).

I think GOATs in general are overhyped and over glorified. We as a culture are obsessed with naming someone the best ever. There is some talent involved for sure but a lot of it is being at the right place at the right time and how the chips fall, ie Saban with Bama and Brady with New England.
Except both won titles at other programs, so it's not just right place right time.

Orgeron was right place right time. This type of success for this long, decade plus for both, isnt luck.

Saban’s dominance has hurt the game. College football imo was more enjoyable in the 70’s and 80’s and 90’s even though there were dynasties and great teams there was a degree of parity that any team could have a chance like BYU in 1984 of winning the national title. Now it’s pretty much just go ahead and give Bama the trophy every year in the preseason it’s pointless really we all know the eventual outcome before the season starts.
Then go to YouTube and have your mail forwarded to the past
Stay there if you think it was better

The GOAT's are "overhyped" because it is highly improbable there will ever be another to top them.

Like Billy B and Tom Brady are most likely to be the player and coach with the most super bowl wins in history...... Like take a coach or player that wins even half their SB rings, they still are miles away from even being close to being compared or put in that class.

Same goes with Saban.

Maybe he can make it more competitive by getting drunk during the game? Fourth quarter and he’s bitch slapping people

Well that remains to be seen with CJH. Let’s see how he recruits his first few years. Bama is recruiting itself to a certain extent because they always win and Saban his built a program over 15 years. If CJH and Saban were to recruit for the same school and it was an average program without a winning history I think CJH would recruit just as well if not better. If it wasn’t a good team that didn’t win much, kids are going to favor the better personality with CJH vs a jerk like Saban. Saban recruits well even though kids don’t like him because he = wins, exposure and the NFL. It’s a trade off.
Saban pulled the #1 class in the country, 2 months after finishing a 7-5 campaign in his first season. It safe to say he’s a better recruiter than Heupel and that’s not a knock on Heupel.

Saban already had a natty on his resume when he got to Bama.

If Heupel can get a signature win or 2 over GA and/or Bama, he'll be able to open some closed doors in recruiting but competing with Saban's fist+ of rings is a tough thing to ask.
