The marijuana isn't a big deal but the gun, scale and cash make it different than simple marijuana possession. The Bama website wrote the headline to make it sound like he just got caught with some pot.
The tears are hard to watch, but he's only crying because he's caught. Maybe this is a life changing event for him, and I certainly hope it is. And the cash - they don't need McDonald's bags anymore, do they. Wow a lot of cash. Anyway, they way the cops handled this was classy. Hope for a happy ending. Young and Dumb sometimes go hand in hand, and like VAVol85 said, this video could be a "teachable moment" for others.
Hard to watch - seeing a guy reduced to begging to get his career back. I wonder if other players would benefit from seeing this. It would be nice to think guys could learn from others mistakes.
I sure hope the Vols have an uneventful summer.
I definitely feel bad for the kid. This so much bs for having weed. And the cops taking their money? These are grown damn men that had what 3 or 4K in the car? How the hell is that a crime? And having a gun isn’t a crime either. Neither one of these kids are felons. And the gun wasn’t stolen. When the whole anti-police uprising began, I was slow to get on board. But the reality is our police force is military like. They treat kids like this. They pull over as if they are enemy combatants in a war zone. The sad thing is these kids shouldn’t have even communicated and cooperated with the cops. The cops always pull that BS now is the time to come clean and I’ll work with you blah blah. They are on your side. Ever!
Separately, the kid’s career isn’t over. He didn’t assault anyone (which apparently his coach isn’t too strict on anyway). He’ll serve some community service but I doubt he’ll miss any time with bama over this.
Definitely believe the young man gets a 2nd chance and hopefully gets his life back on track, but you seem to be blaming the police when he was the one that ran (140mph) from them and had an illegal substance in the car. That wasn't the police officers fault. They treated him about as good as could be expected given the circumstances.I definitely feel bad for the kid. This so much bs for having weed.
