Bama fans in Tennessee.

The problem is not Bama, but Tennessee. This is a band wagon state. Middle Tennessee has always leaned Bama, now it has taken over east and west.

I really blame UT for this issue. At least Bama wins at all cost. They have the will to do what it takes to win. UT, the school and the athletic program are both conflicted in they do not know what they want their identity to be. There is no leadership in the athletic department or the university.

At least the sport fan base in this state wants to succeed. Maybe some day UT will figure that out too.

Coming home from work last monday I thought I was driving in the State of Alabama. Saw a bunch of Bama car flags. I bet 90% of those drivers never stepped foot on Alabama's campus. This brings me to my next point. I hear people talk about how much they hate Bama Fans,Florida Fans and Kentucky Basketball fans. To me the very worst fans in the world are these fans who grew up in East Tennessee that root against Tennessee. They root against UT while pulling for Bama,Florida,FSU,Miami,Oklahoma or some other Football powerhouse while rooting for UNC,Duke,Kentucky or Georgetown in Basketball. Those people are traitors.

Traitors to what? It isn't a requirement to love UT. Some think that the school is run by a bunch of idiots, don't care about sports, support actual winners, etc... I don't like it much either, but bandwagon fans exist everywhere.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. As sad as that is to say.

I lived in middle in the late 90s. It was all orange for football and split with Vandy and UK in basketball. Bandwagoners.

It is sickening to see so many "front runners" around Knoxville. Some are probably real fans, but I think a lot of them have to be associated with whoever is winning. I guess it helps them to feel like winners. There's a kid at my sons' school that I have seen in fla, bama, and tucky gear, which is sad. I have let my 8 and 5 year old boys pick whoever that want to pull for (as far as professional sports), but I WILL NOT let them go against the VOLUNTEERS. My sons are the next generation of VOL fans and if I don't raise them to be ALL VOL, then I have failed to keep THE BIG ORANGE TRADITION alive. GO VOLS!!!

This is true. I live in Nashville and there are tons of Bammers. AWFUL! I could tolerate Bama more when I lived in Knoxville than here.

you think they are a ton there you should come to cookeville they were bama flags flying everywhere tuesday and some were still flying them today. it sucks that is happening here, they have more bandwagon fans than any school i know, hell half of them do not even know who the starting qb is.

I've lived in Middle Tennessee for years. The Bama fans have multiplied liked roaches here. It is truly sickening.

There sure are a bunch of Vol fans that just randomly quiz Alabama fans on this site.

I'm in the army and a really good buddy of mine is from Tuscaloosa. Ever since last year there's been a crazy amount of Bama car flags being flown. My buddy hates bandwagon fans of his own team more than Vols..

We have been known to quiz guys in brand new Bama caps.

Its rediculous to say you're a bandwagoner if you pull for different college teams. Until Pearl took over for the awful Vols, I always pulled for Duke as my "favorite" bball team. That's only cuz the Vols were never on tv and I can't get pick up the 102.3 channel they're on. Of course I always wanted UT to win, but there's nothing wrong with pulling for another team come tourney time. What's next, I have to pull for the Titans?

I totally agree here. That is not the definition of a bandwagoner. You would, however, be on the wagon if you pulled for Duke over UT. Heck, you HAVE to have another team to stay sane if you are a UT fan these days. If you didn't, your arse would be totally bored come bowl season or Big Dance time.
I like the Titans, but it should not be a requirement for anybody to have to sit through the destruction that the old fart Bud Adams has put his team through. After all, anybody who drafts Vince "Radio" Young over Jay Cutler probably deserves anguish for the rest of their miserable life.

I used to see a lot of Gator stickers on cars - now it's Bama. LSU or Jawja have a good season, it'll be them. And when (that's right - when, not if) the Vols begin winning big again, those stickers will be replaced. Bandwagon fans - bleh! I stick with the Vols, win or lose. So when we're riding high again, I can proudly say I was behind them all the time.

Back when was in high school (graduated in 2010) first you saw UF stuff after 06, then those same people were wearing Bama stuff in 09 and UNC stuff after they won NCAA tournament.....rarely saw anyone that was loyal to a team or at least tell you something in depth about the team

I gotta admit I'm seeing more bammers now too. Use to seeing more of them than peabodies but now I'm see more that ky's. There's alot of ky's here...esp during basketball season.

But there is just as just as many Vols here in Nashville as there is all of them put together...we're just not making as much noise now as we use to.

Must be like all the Tennessee "fans" I remember from back home in North Carolina during the 90s and early 2000s. Our school has been a part of this too. I only hope to get bandwagoners on board again: means we're winning.

Exactly...........the same Tennessee fans who were calling my house and rubbing in your victories in 2003 and 2004 I no longer hear from anymore........but I'm sure when you guys beat us again they'll be calling as if they never left.

It never fails.

Small minded people with no self respect will always be a "fan" of a team that is on top. Right now the easiest thing in the world to be is a bammer fan. It is more difficult being a Tennessee fan that i can ever remember. The bandwaggoners have low character, low self esteem and are just pathetic. Not traitors, just weak on mind and soul.

I remember in the 90's you couldn't find any bammer stuff in Tennessee if you wanted to. Just laugh at them or ignore them. Attention is what they want; don't give it to them.

I see several people with Mizzou gear in Tennessee. There are lots of people that reside in another state that are transplants.

Why should they give up their allegiance to their home state or university because they move away from there?

That is not the case with the bammer wagon.

It is an amazing thing. Some people are bandwagon fans, some people even move to different states and every once in a blue moon people like teams in a different state. With all that said, my life hasn't been affected one bit. I could careless if I am the only Vol fan in Tennessee. Cheer for whoever you want...

I'm ok with somebody from east TN pulling for another team. Just pull for them through the good and bad times. There's a bunch of bandwagon fans out, those fans were Gator fans 4-5 years ago.

I forgot alabamer had a football team back then. They rise and fall. Bama should enjoy it, bc unlike their 9 made up national championships, this fortunately will not last.

I agree it will not last. Never does. But, they "made up" nine national championships? Were you asleep the last four years? Remember, when they were busy whipping your ass and everyone else's?

Talk about sour grapes.

My cousin claims to be a Bama fan, and couldn't even give me the name of their starting quarterback. True story.
