Reading through some of their threads they sure seem like a miserable bunch. Despite being on top of the world for the last decade. I think they are realizing the reign is coming to an end soon

Bama is 7th nationally in total offense and 5th nationally in scoring offense and they are complaining about Bill O Brien??? Sheesh and I thought we had dumb fans.

I’d Milroe plays it’s still gonna be a tough game imo. Remember, we have difficulty stopping a running QB. But I will agree that we have a better chance of winning with him be Young. Either way this is going to be a tough game. Honestly though I think we have a chance to win even with Young.

Hopefully we get Tillman back and he is 100%. Man I cannot wait for this game.

This will be an epic and historical battle.

My google shows the last time these two teams met while ranked within the top 10 was '96. What a year! Peyton's junior season. Joey Kent and Jay Graham were seniors. Bama was #7 and the TN was #6.

We beat Bama 20-13.

I'll keep it positive and not mention anything about Memphis or FL.

So, if Bama fans are a bit on the tweaky side, there is a historical reason beyond the fact that TN is playing much better football than the tide heading into this showdown.

Lot of bandwagon Bama fans in Southern Middle TN so let them talk. It’s been a special yr for me as a TN fan and I look forward to another great Saturday.

FL- it took 30 yrs for me to see the Vols win in person. Last time was 1992 as I was a sophomore at UT. Vols win this yr!

LSU- Witnessed losses in 2001 and 2007 (SEC title games). I saw on TV but my son was there. 😆

Bama- last win I witnessed in person was before Saban in early 2000’s. Same yr Inky injured Vs Air-
Force. Think it was 2006?
I will be at the game and watch the Win.

So I have confidence this team will break THIS streak.

My son and I attended the game in Neyland the last time the Vols beat Bama, when Bama's head coach was good ole Mike Shula (miss that guy), 16-13 win. 2006, my son was 12, he's 28 now. We sat in JJ, it was his first TN game.

" I don't think Bryce is the key to beating the viles. He's a very important cog, but the key imo is a good game plan."
A good game plan, ya reckon 🤣

That’s was the same game I was referring to. We say in x3. My son was three yrs old. Of course he doesn’t remember the game. Now he’s a sophomore at Rocky Top and now I have grey hair, what’s left of it 😆.

Hard to believe it’s been 16 yrs.

A few years ago, I went to a MO/TN game in Misery with a friend and we pre-gamed at Shakespeare's. One dude in Red (Crimson) walked up to the bar. Without saying hi, I looked at him and asked, WTF are you doing here... He opened his jacket and it had no less than 12 buttons that said F#$! Tennessee... and said, I'd travel anywhere to see TN get their butt kicked. I bought him a $4 Patron Silver shot and said you get it. I added a few more comments about his family and dogs... and his boyfriend. We did win.

“That UT defense can be run on...all day. They don't have 5 star monsters like aTm.”

Now I’m gonna have to stop you right there

A Georgia Tech transfer doesn't scare me, a Georgia transfer doesn't scare me, a Tennessee transfer doesn't scare me, a sore-shouldered QB doesn't scare, a redshirt freshman QB doesn't scare me, a defensive back named Kool-Aid doesn't scare me...well, you get the picture.

Well, “those 5 star monsters on the D line that A&M has” couldn’t seem to stop Appy State, who ran for 200 yards on them.

This one...
They type like I interpret thems talking 😆
We haven't done well with injured qbs coming back in a big game. See LSU, Clemson. He probably will not be 100% if he does play. UT knows he has a vernable shoulder. The undisciplined play on our part, crowd noise and the momentum they have. It will take our best effort as a whole to light up the cigars this time.

They also haven't watched much tape. We held LSU under 100 and our only decent defensive ranking was against the run.

That UT defense can be run on...all day.

1999 when Tee took over their house. We were 5th and Bama was 10th

I like the old saying, if you see someone in Alabama wearing an Auburn sweatshirt either them or a family member probably went to school there. If you see someone in an Alabama sweatshirt either them or a family member went to Walmart. Here in Georgia the same can be said for Ga. Tech and UGA.

My wife's friend moved to Tennessee from NY several decades ago and became a bama fan. She is one of many bandwagoners we likely have all met. She asked my wife a question whether there had ever been another time when UT/bama played each other when they were both undefeated. The inference is UT finally got to the 3rd week in October undefeated. So hearing the patronizing, comment, I looked it up. This will be the 18th time in UT football history when UT came into the bama game undefeated. When both teams are undefeated, UT leads the series 9-7-1. (That 1944 game must have been a doozy, 0-0). I did take into account several years for both UT and bama where one team came into the game without a loss but had a tie. These are included. In full disclosure, of those 17 previously, 11 were during the Neyland era and the General was 8-3 in games between undefeated Vol/bama teams. However, it has been 62 years since UT and bama were undefeated (each 2-0-1) when the Vols won. In 1960, on October 15th, UT beat bama 20-7. This week's game is on October 15th.
