bama hires sarkisian....

This hire might look like a good thing to some, but I don't see it working out in the end. Too many egos and too many opinions will result in bad decisions and possibly infractions.

Actually I'm confused. That was Mike DuBose. Price is good to go! He'll just hang out with Joey and Sark at the Tuscaloosa strip clubs! I guess if you're into one legged toothless midget strippers anyway 😍

Picking up those whole fail in life but are smart as coaches. I assume Saban says it like this "I'll give you a shot to revive your career but if you cause any problems in life or coaching you're gone". Not totally a dumb idea but I'm glad it's not being done at Tenn.

You know we can bust all we want and I realize Saban keeps hiring bums, but they are blistering butts. Until UT gets serious about getting an OC, they will never put on a performance like bama did against USC.

Buying players like Alabama does would help also:question:

The timing is curious, day after throttling USCw you bring in their recently fired coach? Then act like he just got hired. He's been on the job behind the scenes all summer.
Helton's offense was shut down because Saban brought in the guy that knew it better than anyone

That is a ridiculous article. Alabama just hired a coach who sued his prior employer for firing him for being an alcoholic. He never accepted one shred of accountability for his own conduct which included multiple incidents. This article makes no mention of that relevant fact. This is a 'brilliant move'? Really? Saban could hire a registered sex offender and Bama fans would defend it.

Bama needs to win at football like a drunk needs his gin bottle--desperately. There is no question about that, which is why they set a new pay scale by hiring Saban and further proving what an often corrupt big business major-college sports is in America. Bama is a program that will push the envelope, cheat--they've got a do-what-it takes mentality. It's rather shameful--but then it's alabama, a poor southern state full of rednecks. (Yea, so is Tennessee, but a bit less so--yes!) College football is all they've got. As for Sarkisian, he and Kiffin and their talent make them very formidable indeed.

It takes some incredible audacity to sue a former employer for firing you after you showed up for work intoxicated and then calling it discrimination. The media will give Alabama a pass for it because they win but that doesn't make Steve Sarkisian any less of a lowlife.

Bama is now a rehab facility between Kiffin and Sark.

Most pundits feel that Kiffin will get another HBC position after this year and Sark is the plan to keep the same offense roling in Kiffin's exit transition.

Question, if you were an AD would you hire him and put your job on the line?

Remember, it's only been 6 years (2010) since Al Davis pulled out his overhead projector and labeled Kiffin too immature and a liar, 1 year at TN where he confirmed everything that Al Davis had said, then 3 years at USC where he basically ran that program into the ground as well.

It's been 2 years since he couldn't find a job and was hired by Saban as a favor for Jimmy Sexton.

So in 2 years he's changed his spots to the point where he is once again a hot commodity for a P5 school?

I hope so. Can't wait to watch the dumpster fire.

While I'm not saying that Kiffin has been or will be a good head coach, I don't think this is really accurate. Kiffin inherited a sanction-riddled program at USC. While he certainly wasn't amazing, and his teams had some embarrassing losses, he had a winning % of .6512. Since Kiffin was ditched at the airport and drug thru the mud by Pat Haden, USC has a winning % of .6486.

The issue at USC is their leadership. Mike Garrett helped USC get slammed by the NCAA with his arrogance and intransigence. Haden inherited Kiffin, didn't like him, justifiably sacked him but did it in a terribly unprofessional way, and then hired another guy with Pete Carroll's stink on him who was also a raging drunk. Haden then took the interim tag of Helton rather than actually performing a coaching search, and Helton has gone 0-3 since becoming the full-time coach. And Helton is a guy who worked for both coaches that were fired by Haden. What is the thought process that says the results will be any better?

Here is Colin CowTurds take: Saban is 4 steps ahead of everyone else...hired Sark to keep him from going to LSU or God Forbid TN, at some point. Also he'll promote Sark if Kiffin ends us getting a HC gig at the end of this season.

What exactly is his position?

This has been my question since I heard this as well. It's like they are just stock piling what ever they can grab at this point. Makes me think we should go after Jim Tressel in a hurry. Create a position for him. We could use a full time QB coach.

Wasn't attacking. Just basically asking a hypothetical. If you or anyone else, knowing these facts, would you hire him and risk your job?

:hi:

I wouldn't hire Kiffin to set the uniforms out in the lockerroom on game night, and that doesn't have much to do with his leaving UT. I think he's amoral, unethical and immature, and I wouldn't want that around a program that I was given to safeguard.

But I do think there are struggling programs that would hire him with a lot of hope and desperation, strictly on an Xs and Os basis.
