2014 season will start in Atlanta in the @chickfilabowl Kickoff game vs. WVU. Road games are Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU.

Tide finalizes '14 schedule. Home games include FAU, Southern Miss, Florida, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Western Carolina and Auburn.

This is just laughable

How many times are they going to play the opening CFL Game? Won't that be the 3rd time in 4 years?

Not that bad. Ohio State thinks it looks rather rough.

WVU was coming off a 40-point win in a BCS bowl when we scheduled the game. I fail to see how it's Bama's fault that the Mountaineers went in the crapper.

Yeah, I kind of agree with this. If we haven't learned anything else this year we should have learned not to judge a schedule until it plays out. Who would ever have seen Mizzou and Auburn being as good as they were. Maybe we can be a surprise team next year that makes Bama's schedule look tougher.:peace2:

I'll give you that but what about Southern Miss, FAU, and Western Carolina???

Unfortunately Bama will likely be in the SEC championship game every year for the forseable future. Can't wait til they start sliding

Everyone plays cannon-fodder (see Western Kentucky, South Alabama, and Austin Peay).

That said, until 2005 Alabama played Southern Miss almost every year going back to the 40s. Many USM fans over the age of 30 would probably tell you that Bama is their biggest rival. We only stopped because USM refused to play us if we didn't make a return trip to Hattiesburg, which is simply never going to happen. Despite their refusal, Bama has extended an offer every single year since '05. I'm assuming USM finally relented because they need the money.

Yes, Southern Miss is awful. But it is a traditional matchup.

One solid OOC opponent.

Three OOC cupcakes.

SEC schedule.

I'd like to know who the OP wants Bama to play to make their schedule legit....a road game against the Broncos perhaps?

At least Florida rotates on to replace KY.
What makes this year's schedule look easy is that every significant game has been after a bye week. Auburn then became a significant game though and is not technically after a bye.

They can have our road trip to Oklahoma.
I say this hoping we'll win, and my post gets bumped.

It wasn't that long ago USM was respectable. What happened to that program?

Unless you're a school like WKU or South Alabama, your out of conference schedule is very likely terrible. I don't understand why people are still surprised by this.

I hate bama but
i have no qualms with their schedule, just like the rest of the sec 1 tough one and 3 mid majors.
to be honest every one of those non conf teams could beat S Bama, and Peay.
Not Bamas fault we caught Oregon at the top of their game.

Excellent question. Went from a conference title and proceeded to lose 22 games and counting.

USM decided it would be a good idea to push out their longtime coach, Jeff Bower. They replaced him with Fedora, who left them after four seasons for UNC. So, basically, they replaced a guy who would never leave USM with a guy who saw USM as a stepping stone, because they got greedy for more short-term success. That's my interpretation. Fedora's replacement went 0-12 in his first season in 2012 and was fired.

I work with an Ohio State fan who readily admits that the Big Ten looks like the new Big East, so far.

The additions of Rutgers and Maryland won't do anything to change that perception.

I'm still baffled as to why the Big Ten made that call.

Agreed 100%

Folks forget how far in advance these schedules/matchups are arranged.
