Bama loses, Pruitt full-throttle

Living down here in game chicken and tigger country, I'm often annoyed by the outlandish hatred both contingencies of those teams' supporters deeply, deeply hate our UT Vols.Being conference rivals, I can understand USCjr's angle. We play clemmy maybe once a decade, yet I seldom get positive...or even nice...comments from any of those upstate SC supporters when I wear my well-worn UT cap, or if one of them notices the Power T either on the front or the rear of my Yukon. Dabo's notorious about embellishing rival recruiters situations, and he's always pulling on our most coveted players. Bama's in the SEC. I hate Bama. Nonetheless, since I near-daily have to deal with clemmy fans' inflated hubris and swagger, and more-so the fact that Coach Pru is leading bammer's D against Dabo...which could possibly implement adding a couple or more studs who were headed to Tuscaloosa. Well. For likely the first and only time in my life, I'm pulling for the tide to roll on one. NC? Go Sooners! CRUSH those dawgs, and then eke by the tide in a 6 to 3 defensive brawl. GBO!

I normally would probably (ok, it's 50-50 some years) pull for Bama against Clemson, but not this year. I'd like Pruitt to come on board a full week early to finish this recruiting class without any distractions.

Btw, did you guys see the following:

SEC Shorts - Emotional send off for Georgia and Alabama gets awkward quick - YouTube

It makes me sick to say it, but it my only help us if Bama shuts them and whoever else down. Would make Pruitt that much more appealing

Yeah. I think there are others who feel the same, as do I. After that game (clemmy vs. bama), if clemmy runs all over bama; if it's a scoring fest like the last two NCs were, I'm with you on wishing bammer would've lost and Coach Pru would've had that extra week to concentrate on Feb. 7th. However, he's got a seriously sharp mind-trust working long hours daily, doing just that, so if he manages to garner national recognition as being a superman of a coach by looking brutal against Dabo's boys, and during this tigger whoopin' he'll be mentioned by the media as UT's new HC, well.....

I was born to hate Bama! It has to be "The Orange Blood" that is coursing through my veins that makes me hate them so! :censored:

Just to make sure I make myself clear one final thought on Bama

You guys do understand having Clemson win it all again is actually worse for us than any of the other teams winning it in the playoff. Clemson is killing us in recruits, stealing our instate kids and have took away what used to be our fertile recruiting ground in the Carolinas. I’d actually prefer Bama to beat them, but I’m hoping Oklahoma wins it all.

I still hate Oklahoma because of that tool Bob Stoops, even though he’s retired. (I’m petty like that)
And I wouldn’t pull for uga or bama if they were playing ISIS.
So, by default, it’s Clemson for me this year.

Isn’t it to our own advantage for Bama to win and look dominant on Defense in doing so with lots of shots of Pruitt being shown with talk of him being the new Tennessee coach? Let’s not get in our own way here like we always seem to do...

Frankly, it's silly for a Vol fan to cheer for anybody other than Oklahoma in the playoffs. Pull for Georgia, Clemson, or Alabama......not in this lifetime.
Georgia? Ha! No.....we owe them a real curb stomping after last year. It might be another year away, but we'll settle up with them. And Georgia is way too impt a recruiting ground for us to wish them championships. Just look at their recruiting haul for 2018. Georgia.....Not happening.
Clemson? Not a prayer. They have poisoned the recruiting water in our own front yard. Ktown Catholic might as well hoist their flag they love Clemson so much. Besides, we're going to be in the business of disliking Dabo Sweeny for a very long time. Because when Saban retires from Alabama, does anyone doubt who's going to Tuscaloosa?
And Alabama, No, because while it has intrinsic recruiting value for CJP to be seen on that stage, it's still Alabama, NO! They are not our rivals, they are our enemies! And the sooner we get back to remembering that, the sooner we'll start beating them again. Maybe some on here are too young to remember those days, I am not. Never forget, Tennessee is in the SEC East, but we're also the eighth member of the SEC West, because we play Alabama Every year, plus our rotating rival (have you seen the 2018 schedule?). No, never Alabama...ever.
With Georgia and Clemson, we've lost a few football games and recruits. But with Alabama, we've lost something more important, we've lost a generation of fans. Just look at all the Tennesseans today; camp followers, that dress up their vehicles, homes, and themselves with Alabama clothing, licenses, window stickers, and other crap you see so much of today. It was not always that way. Pull for Alabama? When Hell freezes over. No!
Oklahoma is the only sound choice for a solid Vol fan. We do not compete, not too often anyway, for the same recruits. They have a storied history and tradition that is a rival to ours, but at a comfortable distance. And they have a good chance to defeat, on national television, two out of three teams that only wish UT destruction, loss, and confusion year after year.
Exposure for CJP is a plus. But we'll get that anyway. And I hope it is two game's worth. But I hope in the second one Alabama comes up short to Oklahoma.
There is a place on the national playoff stage for an SEC team, but it's time that team was The Big Orange. Time to win again, Go Vols!

With me, it is not a matter of hate, and thank the Lord for that. Let's just say I never thought much of the bammers. Those feelings go way back into the history of our school, and Coach Pruitt knows a thing or two about it. But it is different with players and coaches. The players are part of a very exclusive club and prolly do not hate on each other. To the coaches, college football is their profession, and moving around is part of it.

I would have to prefer Oklahoma to win. They aren’t a team I would pull for but no way do I want an SEC rival to have another National Championship claim they can brag about and use on the recruiting trail. And as far as Clemson, I don’t want to see Tee Higgins, Amari Rodgers, nor Hunter Johnson winning a NC.

I hate Bama but best case is okie to win but if an SEC is to win then Bama is better for TN than Georgia winning. Bama is already on the pedestal and not in the east. First step is to become the best in the east and we don’t need Ga to get on that pedestal. Tee picked Clemson but Cade did not. Who cares about Rogers? Pruit wins then he will take care of Catholic if we even need anyone from there. Better developed players at other schools.

I'm going to predict Bama actually shows up healthy and destroys Clemson. Bama then edges UGA for the title and the publicity Pruitt receives negates any extra time spent on Bama instead of the Vols.

I live in Western North Carolina surrounded by Clemson fans. Obnoxious bunch they are! I hope Bama stomps a mud hole in their arse then stomps the water out of it. Then Oklahoma does the same thing to Bama.

Go Vols
