Bama LSU are going to be our only stumbling blocks

Keon is heating up. Springer is gaining confidence. Santi is playing good D and is a three point threat, as is Bailey. Fulky finally focused and is getting more consistent. I wouldn’t want to play us. Those other teams mentioned are one and two dimensional.

I wouldn’t count our chickens. Plenty of other teams in the conference that can beat us if we have an off night. Auburn with Cooper is an entirely different animal. Kentucky is still Kentucky. Florida is solid, too.

Still have to show up and play each game like it’s for a title.
Yeah, UK looks like a pickup game.

All three of the guys on the SEC Net. picked Vols to go deeper into March; they didn't even mention LSU.
Up till now, LSUs defense has not caught up to its offense. They were on the ropes last night against South Carolina at home but pulled it out. Of course South Carolina is a bit of an unknown right now. They look like a team that could finish in the top half of the league.

LSU isn't great, they play too out of control, and have barely eked out several wins against lesser talented teams. They've yet to a really good defensive team outside of maybe Florida which they lost.

They have some weaknesses, but their overall shooting ability and athleticism is very impressive.

LSU has Anthony Jordan.
Bama has a guy in Petty who has been playing for 10 years. I'm pretty sure Wayne Chism guarded him at one point.

Both those guys have cost TN wins. Control them, TN wins.

I really hope we beat Kentuck like a drum. My son in law who is a huge Katz fan said KY fans are saying Barnes is a better coach than Calapari and then went on talking about how that was BS because Calapari has more Final 4s etc..

Head to head with less talent, Barnes has been better. And doesn’t matter what you did in the past. What matters is what kimd of player/coach are you this year. And right now Barnes is just a better coach.

Love my son in law but KY fans have some special form of arrogance about their bball program.

Why is it that every time TN is poised to dominate and win the SEC, some other team always comes out of nowhere and has their best season in recent history?

Is it just me??
Poised to dominate? I like our team, but dominate? We have weaknesses - but Gonzaga aside, most do.

LOL. Me and my son always say the same thing about Petty.

Loathe both with a passion especially LSU coach

Urghh they look good
Pons gets in foul trouble very early. Fulkerson averages 12 pts a game had 7. Springer averagey 10 pts a game had 3 left in the 1st half injured never came back. JJJ averages 9 pts a game had 2. We had a lid on our rim and they hit 3’s. Our guys had a strange off night from the floor...especially Fulkerson. Our rhythm was off without Springer and Pons. It happens with every team in the nation. Sometimes you can eek out a win regardless sometimes you can’t.

I will say this...teams that live by the 3 will always die by the 3. As far us winning the SEC that is great and all....getting hot in the tourney with our elite defense is way more important in the bigger scheme of things imho.

If the boys play the way this team is capable then they would of beat Bama. Watched just about every minute of this team and they couldn't buy a shot against Bama. Just a terrible shooting night that night. Then Bama got hot from 3 in the 2nd half. I love watching this team play basketball and can't wait to see how the season plays out.

I don’t mean Kentucky is a good team right now. I mean that is still a roster loaded with talent and regardless of how they are playing you cannot over look them.

There are potentially 3 first round draft picks on that roster even if they aren’t playing like it right now. It’s not a team you can just say “Easy win.”

We can lose to both and still be ok. But I agree they’re the next best two teams in the SEC

Auburn won't go very far, at all. 😏
Auburn ineligible for post season tourney. They will play us tough at end of season. Pearl style tough for us to defend. Concur that LSU and Bamers are toughest match ups. They are quick, can beat you off the dribble. They both are peaking early IMO and we have not. Barnes still tinkering. springer and Johnson are best at posting up. They carve out a piece of paint, want the ball and then attack the basket. we will increase those looks. Fulky and Pons are not true posts. When the get the ball in the paint, they mostly like to fade away. This is not what we want or need. No way to get a second shot on a fadeaway. Springer/Johnson attack and when they miss we have a great chance for outback...

Many on here have made fun of Kentucky and Auburn all year for not being very good which up until now is true. Now, I'm starting to wonder just how much crow they are gonna have to eat. I think we will recover and play well again but either one of those teams would have beat us by double digits yesterday.

Auburn if they’re hitting 3’s yes, Kentucky I don’t know how well they match up with us
