Bama media not focused on Miss State

Unless there is some unknown health issue or Alabama loses a large number of games, I don't believe Saban will retire any time soon. He is too driven to survive retirement. He is not the type to sit around and do nothing, and he can't hang around Alabama and undermine, or appear to undermine, the next coach's decisions. So, what will he do in retirement?
It makes me sick to say this, but he built Alabama into a power and has dominated college football for almost fifteen years. How do you give that up, especially if he is the narcissist that some people say he is? No one will be good enough. I can see him on the sidelines in a wheelchair being pushed by Butch Jones.

If they/he was smart and looking to the future they would hire a head coach in waiting. Keep Saban around, let the new guy learn for a couple years, gradually having Nick step down in duties. Something like Ryan Day, Lincoln Riley, Jimbo Fisher getting their HC jobs.

I don't think he's a narcissist. He has a big ego, but I don't think is a narcissist. I think he's one of these perfectionist, meathead competitor types that literally would not know what to do with himself if he wasn't working. Which, whatever floats your boat, but I think that is kind of sad in its own way. He's married and has multiple grandkids. On his deathbed, do you think he'll wish he would have worked more? I dunno.

I think Bama will fight for their lives to defeat Miss State and lose to Ole Miss in Oxford which will end Alabama's chances for the SECCG and the Playoffs.
I saw a post earlier over on the SEC rant from a TX hoping to see an Ole Miss/TN matchup in Atlanta. Most other SEC fans agreed. UGA fans didn’t like it much lol.

Swinney, Day and Smart have built or are building their own dynasties and wouldn't move.

I think Harbaugh is fairly set and Michigan would pay to keep him.

I don't think Lanning is "successful" enough long term to placate the Bama admin.

Franklin would jump in a heartbeat, but I'm not sure Bama would want him.

But I would add Lincoln Riley to that list. And probably Chip Kelley.

Riley, yes. Kelly, no. I don’t see Saban retiring this year, but when he does I think Bama looks to the NFL coordinator ranks for their next HC.

Yeah i really think Nick Saban will hang it up if Alabama is looking 10-2 at a New Years Six game in the face. Like i said earlier i think a lot of people will be shocked when Nick's replacement winds up being Dabo Swinney. I think Alabama would also look at Penn State head coach James Franklin,Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh or Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

I don’t think they’ll get any of those guys, you don’t want to be the first guy after Saban retires, you wanna be the second guy.

Who ever is hired will be under a mountain of pressure.
