Bama was NOT the best team in the SEC this year.

It was settled on the field as it should be. Not by opinions.

No. Alabama and Georgia should play the final game for the national championship, just because it’s my feelings that they are the best teams, and you know what? It doesn’t even matter who wins that game. I should just crown whoever I feel is the best team after that game is over. Who cares about on-field results? (Blue font)

Don’t give them any ideas.

They were just the luckiest.
UGA would have beat Michigan.
I beg your pardon, History proves you wrong. It’s not about who is the best team! It’s about who is the best team on a particular day, Fans want to make excuses when they lose. The era of modern football.

What ever happened to the days when the losing team simply congratulates the other and says we need to get better? Old school coaches like Neyland, Bryant, etc. Those days are gone.

Nobody likes to lose but there is something that just seems right about learning to lose gracefully, picking yourself up and improving. Life lesson this society needs to learn.

Let’s blame everybody and everything else on our failures.

Neither wins a title this year. That's a positive in my book. Sick of both of them.
And thank goodness for this. Any other SEC hoisting a national title trophy is a negative for the Vols. No other way to look at it. The more other SEC teams win, the better they recruit, which makes them harder for the Vols to beat.

Unlikely UGA beats Michigan. Michigan's defense is legit. Probably better than Bama's (certainly gave up less points to Bama than UGA did). And quite easily their offense is better than Bama's.

UGA nearly lost to Auburn folks. This isn't the same UGA team as year's past. Outside of Bowers, they really lacked playmakers offensively. And defensively they got exposed several times.

I too think Georgia was the best team overall. Bad decision by the committee, but you can’t say any of the 4 weren’t competitive. 2 tight games yesterday.

Sitting here listening to the talking heads on TV including Paul Finebaum they are all saying saban is in his twilight years. This is good to hear, I would like to beat him at least one more time before he leaves for the old folks home.

Bama beat UGA so no second guessing from me. Gotta tip the cap. There ain’t no arguing about better; you are what the scoreboard says you are.

That said, Bama played its best game against UGA and UGA played one of its worst against Bama. Again, credit to the other guys for getting UGA off its game. But I think UGA would win more half if the two teams played 10 times given that UGA meaningfully out gained Bama both in total and on a per-play basis. I’d also take UGA against Washington and probably Texas.

But Michigan? I think UGA’s passing scheme could make some trouble in the middle of that defense, but the Michigan DL is a problem. I also like Michigan’s passing game design a lot, and Corum is a dude. UGA probably has some mismatches it could exploit (especially if we imagine a healthy Bowers) but so does Michigan—looking at UGA’s 2 true freshman ILBs in particular. UGA taking Michigan to overtime like Bama would seem a fair prediction, even if my fan lenses would want to lean UGA’s way a little.

The number of “VolDawgs” we have on here is astonishing. Bama whipped Georgia. Period. Why are you shilling for a hated rival?
Beat? Sure. But not whipped. UGA got more yards, more yards per play, did (a little) better on third down, and did it all with lots of key guys out or severely limited. Bama got us by 3 when we gave them an unforced fumble inside our 15 yard line and we missed a FG of our own. I take nothing from them: a win is a win, no excuses. Milroe in particular made big plays when Bama needed them, and UGA couldn’t stop him. UGA also had trouble with Bama’s man coverage all night. But UGA has been whipped before, and this wasn’t one of those times.

Being a Dawg I’m curious if you think FSU or Bama should e been in (or someone else left out and both in). Thoughts?
