Bama

You know, many coaches who go from college to pro think they have the answer to the great puzzle of ''can I motivate those who are paid higher than me, and who have no reason to perform''. Coach Saban tried hard, of that I have no doubt, but in a world where you have egos of such magnitude I'm quite sure that it is the business magnate and not the football coach who has the edge. It takes a business mans mind to administrate such people, football is long gone.

Saban turns em down, and the next coach they try to lure is going to require a loan from Fort Knox.

They're making it more and more difficult to actually sign someone when Saban turns them down. If I was the next candidate that they went after, I'd have to calmly, with a straight face, ask where my $40-50 million offer is.

If Saban says yes, they ought to just go ahead and put up a statue of him outside their stadium for bailing them out of one of the worst hiring processes in the history of the world.

you got that right, but I think they may have a shot at him, the year he's had has to leave a bad taste in his mouth. Also the Culpepper over Brees decision has to be painful as well. If he does go to Bama, the rest of the SEC is in trouble.

How long will Miami put up with the fact that they are sitting at home again during the playoffs. In this day and age it's not tolerated like that. I see Saban taking the Bama job.

It' sad when coach Saban is drivin' towards the bammer coaching job not by $, but by a puter term...''program not responding''. By the way how much accelerant liquid is called for in burning 8.7 lbs of Dolphins gear?

History would tell us Saban will turn Bama down, but my gut has a bad feeling he'll be named.

Good for them.

I agree!

I am not holding my breath though, ok maybe a little, but I dont believe anything anymore. I will say this though. When we get a new coach and start winning again, all this will be long forgotten.

You Vols have been very fortunate to get a coach like Phil. He has been a winner and an upstanding person. Congrats on that.

We just need TuskALoosa now to put his "Ink is dry" Stamp of Approval on this hire. :birgits_giggle:

Were is my Tusk buddy at anyway?

Can I ask a serious question here? If BAMA were to get a Saban calibur coach, ok if it were Saban, would you fans hate it as far as thinking he will turn the program around?

I think most people who deal in reality realize that there's no way Alabama is going to stay down. There's too many athletes, too much tradition and too much money over there. Whether it's this hire or not . . . Evenutally they are going to get it right and return Alabama to some level of prominence.

Me personally, I wouldn't hate it. It'd bring the longstanding rivalry back to the forefront.

since we're asking questions, would Bammer fans be happy with Kines as a HC after the debacle in the bowl game?

I believe Saban would give me a reason to hate Alabama... not that that's a bad thing.

Oh no there would be a revolt and tuskaloosa would be under seige!!

I might even put on Orange if that happened!

No really he has been a good DC, but he is not HC material IMO.
