Unfortunately, he's not alone. There are a disturbing amount of folks out there who admire some aspect of Hitler's persona. I used to have a manager at a company I worked for that made all his direct reports read a book about Hitler so they could figure out what made him an effective leader.

He was one of the most effective leaders in the history of mankind.

“[Saban is] a winner, he just does what he wants to do,” says Lee Allen, an Alabama fan from Decatur. “He’s kind of like Hitler. He’s a dictator. He brought us back to the top and I figure we’re going to be here for a while. Money well spent.”

Wait, what? Hitler? You mean that as a compliment? “Yeah,” Allen says in between discreetly spitting tobacco juice into a water bottle in the lobby.

Sometimes these boneheads need to think before they speak.

Later, the Bama fan expressed incomprehension why Hitler and "them Naughtzees" hated the juice. He was quoted babbling, "I 'specially like the apple and the grape juice."

This.

He was as or more charismatic than anyone we've ever seen politics wise. He took a country out of their own depression and made them a world power in less than 20 years, and had he not been a greedy idiot at the end and attack the soviets (or allowed Pearl Harbor to happen), we would probably all be speaking German at this point.
Arguing if he's a good person or someone to admire isn't the argument. You can admire or mold yourself after traits of a person and not support their stance or their beliefs, see Muhammad Ali.

Now, if it had been Rommel in charge all along...

There is no denying Hitler's ability to lead, his charisma, or his political savvy. His public speaking skills were off the charts as well.

If the war ends for Saban like it did for Hitler, let him compare. ...Hellabama is not exactly known for their smarts!
