I guess all I can say is that the UA AD might have tried to work some sort of recognition of the more recent 9/11 event into their drumbeating.
I'm OK with hyping Bear Bryant's 100'th b-day (rolls eyes), but you'd think that someone in the department might have said, "Uh guys, there's something else that happened on this date, too," and would have figured out a way to acknowledge that.
I mean, they probably insist on their new hires having four-year degrees in marketing or some other commercial prostitution (sorry) major. You'd think that they'd have had a course at some point on Unfortunate Coincidences.
--this coming from someone whose anniversary was on the same date as the JFK assassination. What a pain that was for 29 years.
