Not really, UA has done a masterful job of luring kids from outside the state with a good education and a Greek life at prices less than some would pay in their own state. Ole Miss tries the same thing, as both states really lack in qualified high school graduates.
Bloomberg's business school rankings don't even have Alabama in there, UT is in the 40s. As I recall, Vandy, UF, and UGA were ahead of UT in that latest ranking for all private and public.
I have had some UTAT grads work for me over the years and I was not impressed even though they had great transcripts. I just did a bad job hiring I guess.
