Bammers would be +24 vs worst NFL team on a neutral field

Ill take any NFL team, in Tuscaloosa, and give 24 points 100/100 times.

It's a joke. The Chiefs are terrible, you think they would only beat Bama by three scores or less? No thanks

It's fun talking about this with people. A guy I work with is 100% sure Bama would have a .500 record if they played a full nfl schedule.

Sounds like where I work. LOL

But, if UT was as solid as Bama is, I'd probably make stupid remarks like that as well.

Didn't they used to have a college All Star team play a NFL team game once upon a time?

Well Spurrier seems to think Bama could win. :loco::loco:

If it was that easy, all he had to do was sign his whole Florida team back in the day to play for the Redskins.

Sorry but Bama would get blown out by the practice squads.

Pretty sure the Chiefs could beat Bama playing the whole game with 10 men on the field.

On the radio today, Hill and Schareth (sp?) said Spurrier said that Alabama could beat the NFL bottomfeeder and Mark Schlareth said the only way that would happen is if Spurrier went back to the NFL and Bama played his team lol

Zing!!! Schlareth is one of my favs.

"No 30,000 men ever made can take that ridge". -Gen Longstreet to Gen Lee prior to the final battle at Gettysburg.

I think the results would be similar. NFL players physicality> any NCAA team.

I think he was talking about comparative payrolls. Bama SHOULD be able to hang with the Jags..

The ole ball coach wasn't making a statement, he was hoping to create a distraction. This time of year in South Carolina, being facetious, is the only goal attainable.

Every year this conversation comes up and every year it's completely silly.

The best CFB team ever against the worst NFL team ever since the merger would be over by halftime.

Not me. I love my team but I don't care how good they could ever be, I would never act like beating any nfl team would ever happen.

Well the first thing that Bama has a huge advantage over every other college team is depth. If they had to trim to 53 players like NFL teams. Then lol they would get destroyed. Huge difference of 85 good players and 53 great players.

Bama would have no advantage. At all. In any way. I saw the Mark Schlereth thing on ESPN, and he basically echoes what Pete Carroll said. The difference is on the lines. Bama's o-line (as good as it is) would get destroyed. Almost everybody in the NFL was a stud college player. This is a totally rediculous argument. And knowing Spurrier, he only said something like that to jab Saban a little. Now, if Bama doesn't win it all, Saban and Alabama look bad. Much like USC did a few years ago when they got beat by VY and Texas.

Maybe, and then maybe not. The college all stars used to play the defending pro champions and they won some of those games. I realize these are college all stars instead of one team, but then again it was against the best pro team as well and not the worst one.

Hence "since the merger," I am aware that prior to that prior to that, the quality of play in the college game was on equal footing with the pros, and further back exceeded it.

Since the merger (maybe SB IV or so), any matchup you want to come up with would be 49-0 at the half.
