Bang Shootie conversation

This is the twin brother

Just sent this to my brother. He had one years ago when he first got into guns, I think it might have been the first gun he ever purchased himself. I hated it but he was as proud of that gun as any he had. Don't know if he still has it or not, but I asked him and waiting on his reply.

Ask him if it jumped out of his hand too. That iron sight tried to take my lips with it! Seriously the most powerful handgun I’ve ever shot.

Slice, other than helping my wife find a pistol with which she’s comfortable, I’m mulling over a rifle. The Ruger American 308 for lefties quality/price is attractive. If I want to spend up, the Ruger Scout for lefties is drool inducing.

I don't have to ask him, I remember. First time he shot it he almost bloodied my nose.

I'll ask him though just to see how he responds.
It’s an absolute beast. Explains why I’ve never seen a 45-70 in semi auto. Who the hell is going to want to squeeze the trigger on that thing more than once?

Almost bloodied “your” nose? I gotta know how that happened. If he was shooting, how did you nearly get involved?

You more than likely already know about them but just in case I’ll tell you about them anyway. Have you checked out the S&W EZ for your wife? They’re compact, easy racking slide, light weight and reasonable on price. I personally don’t like them only because of the back strap safety but other than that I’ve heard nothing but good things.

My apologies. I should’ve picked up on the sarcasm. Thought it may have been a good story of you standing too close behind him.
He said he doesn't have it anymore but wished he did. And just "LOL" about it jumping out of his hand "don't you remember?". Haha.

My oldest is left handed also. It sucks finding good options
Just teach the wife to stand beside you and work the bolt.

Nah, man. Gotta shoot the gun. Heh heh.

Honestly, I’ll never shoot my century-plus old Remington with damask barrels, not even with weak black powder loads. Nope. Not gonna do it.

I guess I could strap it to a vise and shoot it.
It’s really not that bad. As long as you don’t make the mistake I did. I underestimated it. Dont ask me how I underestimated such a powerful pistol but I gripped the fore end like a rifle and held it looser than I should’ve. I didn’t want no more of that that day but I’ll shoot it again and I’ll know more of what to expect and how to prevent it from happening again. My best friend shot it several times that day without complication. If you ever get the opportunity, you should try it out. Just remember to hold on! Lol

About to load up and head to the woods to throw a few down range with the bestie. 😁. Happy days!

How do you know Maurer?
Odd question on a gun thread. I trained him from age 6-13. From 13 and up I took more of a halftime “consultant” role out of respect of his coaches to avoid any clashing that may be seen as disrespectful or opposing. If I see a problem, I tell him how to fix it when/if he asks for help.
