Barack Obama's geography problem

how was I making something up? Obama said Hillary would do better than he in Kentucky because Kentucky is close to Arkansas. Kentucky actually shares a border with Illinois and while they are close, KY and AR do not have a common border.
I'm sorry, I missed the part where he said they share a common border. Could you please point me in the direction of this quote?

This all seems a little desperate MG.

you're right, OWB. I should focus on the issues. Obama is a big government socialist and what few policy decisions he's actually elaborated on will certainly be harmful to both the US economy and US national security.

He can't be poked fun at because he's the Obama-ssiah and because he's black.

I get it.

at least I heard he's wearing his new American flag label pin now. It includes all 57 states :p

I'm going to post of couple more of Obama's recent gaffes.

It's not because I'm a racist (I'm not) and it's not because I "hate" Obama. ( I certainly hate his left wing/Marxist ideas, but not the man).

at a Memorial Day event, Obama said:

On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.

paging Haley Joel Osmet.

Obama also spoke about his uncle, who allegedly fought in World War II. Claiming he helped liberate Auschwitz.

Obama also spoke about his uncle, who was part of the American brigade that helped to liberate Auschwitz. He said the family legend is that, upon returning from war, his uncle spent six months in an attic. “Now obviously, something had really affected him deeply, but at that time there just weren’t the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain,” Obama said. “That’s why this idea of making sure that every single veteran, when they are discharged, are screened for post-traumatic stress disorder and given the mental health services that they need – that’s why it’s so important.”

Auschwitz was liberated by the Red Army in late January, 1945. A time when the US military was still fighting the Battle of the Bulge.

I'm not going to buy an Obama apologist's excuse that Obama "was mistaken". His stump speeches are obviously very well rehearsed and if he is as smart as he appears to be, mistakes like this shouldn't happen.

Also, who is Obama's uncle? I thought his mother was an only child?

In other news: Michelle Obama upon learning of Barack's family heroism has said she can now consider herself proud of the good ole USA prior to 2008.

Today's politics is nothing but mudslinging for the most part. We talk about being a united country, but we can't even have a government that is united in taking care of it's people. (I don't mean in a monetary way either.)

I do not agree with Robert Redford's politics but I think he makes a good point here:

Robert Redford has a dim view of American politics, says David Hochman in Playboy. As a younger actor, he made several films about the corruption and compromises at the heart of political ambition that, he hoped, would make Americans demand more of their leaders.

"I once had great hopes that people would see movies like The Candidate and All the President's Men and say, 'Hey, if we're not careful, we might get snookered.' I discovered we Americans enjoy the distraction of entertainment but aren't really interested in the deeper message. We don't like to look inward; we don't like darkness."

His cynicism was reinforced when he received a Kennedy Center honor in 2005 and spent an evening hobnobbing with Washington's elite.

"Here were sworn enemies, the leaders who beat the s*** out out of each other all day in public, but the minute those doors closed for the state dinner, the daggers went away and it was one big happy family. I saw former Republican Sen. Bill Frist weaving through the tables, and he came over to Ted Kennedy and start massaging his shoulders and laughing like they were the oldest buddies in the world. Everybody was crossing the aisles and chuckling, and I said: 'Oh, I get it! It really is just a game."

did he need to explicitly state anything in order to debunk Obama's excuse for getting trounced in KY?

his campaign has now said Obama said the wrong concentration camp and we should obviously just forget it now.

Obama was also apparently referring to his great uncle, Charles Payne.

"Senator Obama’s family is proud of the service of his grandfather and uncles in World War II – especially the fact that his great uncle was a part of liberating one of the concentration camps at Buchenwald. Yesterday he mistakenly referred to Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald in telling of his personal experience of a soldier in his family who served heroically,” Burton said.

the Republicans didn't sign the Bury the Clinton Bosnia Lie Treaty and reserve the right to expose every Obama lie made available.

I can usually see where you are coming from, but to call this a lie is an absolute reach. He obviously misspoke.

I can only hope you have been so forgiving the last few years from GWB (a man who was never propped up to be a great orator).
