If he waits until next year he has a better chance at being the #1 overall pick. More than likely the #1 QB. Right now he is second or third QB on list. Top 5 pick makes quite a bit more money than 10-15.

Smart move. I can only think of 1 qb that came out as true junior that made it in the NFL.

I think it will help him be better prepared to be the #1 overall pick in the draft, but it will pretty much kill any chance he has of winning a Heisman trophy. These days, no guy who comes into the season as such a prohibitive favorite is going to win. The voters will find some underdog who probably won't have any better of a season than Barkley and give that person the award.
