It almost sounds like u are rooting for UT to fail, but I will give u the benefit of the doubt and say u wanna see it again. I can understand that, thought we were going to take off again after Kansas. Then we laid an egg against Ole Miss, but this time, I think the light kicked on for the freshmen and this team against UK. We will see against Georgia. Btw, I'm predicting a 10+ point Vols win

Was I a little aggressive with my criticism towards Barnes offense? Absolutely. Doesn't mean I want them to lose lol. I just hate watching inconsistent offenses. I hope I'm eating my words when it's all said and done believe me haha. They may have possibly found their identity....we'll find out the next few games

Vols found a different gear last night. The criticism was fair. The hyper-unselfish Kevin O’Neill style offense was really hurting us. This team has the horses to run. I think it will carry over. This is not rocket science.

No big man production. Fulkerson very ineffective. Pons probably playing hurt, other bigs ineffective. Weak defense Bailey and Vescovi, James offense hot and cold. At LSU Pons, Fulkerson, Bailey total 7 points...James 9 points. Tennessee will lose a lot of games with that kind of production... In their 5 SEC losses Tennessee has scored 65 points or less. Very inconsistent offense
will cost Tennessee down the stretch.

As an adult, there are better ways to verbalize your feelings than calling things “trash” because you don’t like results, especially when referring to the play of college students. But, go ahead and join the legions of fans who call college players, college coaches, and anything they don’t like “trash.” Try saying the word “trash” to the parent of one of these players face-to-face and see where it gets you.

It’s not about being able to handle the truth. It’s the caustic verbiage these people use to express their viewpoints. If you approve of calling what college kids do is “trash” then so be it.

Oh no! There's a grown up on the site trying to raise the level of discourse against all odds!

There is nothing even remotely "trashy" about the Vols basketball team. They are young, inconsistent, confusing, and maddening at times, but that is not "trash." "Trash" is a word used when a poster's access to a vocabulary either temporarily escapes (i.e. blind anger, alcohol, etc.) or when a poster never actually developed a vocabulary. The word is insulting and adds little to nothing of value to the discussion other than suggesting a sense of hopelessness. This team is not beyond hope. In fact they were and remain one of the top teams in the country, like it or not. They are no where near the best, but they are far from the worst. I'd love better PG play. I pray that the real Fulkerson returns to Knoxville soon. But, let the season play out, criticize all you want, but, I agree with cardvolfan, calling the team and the coaches "trash" is weak sauce, indeed.

Would personally word it differently but its not in my top 1000 list of things that offend me.

They have dismissed so many of their best staffers to save money that they certainly are moving swiftly toward the bottom of the barrel. Dickie V's broadcasts, for example, are no longer entertaining or informative to me for the most part. They did both for me 15-20 years ago.

Hey, in truth not many folks would think to include the word "class" when describing me, so I don't demand it of others. I just get so tired of the shortcut insults used on the board that get mistaken for truth and that get potentially read by kids and coaches who are busting their butts to succeed and please the fans. I don't have a problem with criticism. I have a problem with disrespect. Go Vols!

Pretty simple. Look at their career percentages. They are average for the most part when it comes to the skill of shooting. They are great scorers because they won games with their effectiveness in big moments, not their efficiency. There are "shooters" with much better %'s that are great shooters. MJ and Harden both are all-time great scorers, but the efficiency to be all-time great shooters is simply not there when compared to other great shooters. Those great shooters, are not all-time great scorers though. They are not one in the same.
