This is a surprise to me after what he said before about how he hopes UT offers and that he has been a fan since he was a kid.

as far as the whole memphis/tennessee/love/hate argument goes... i think we just need to find a way to physically wrangle the whole city and pull it closer to knoxville, and we need to have a giant barbecue with all 5-6ish million tennesseans where we can work out our differences, make up, and become a unified state. then we could recruit memphis better in football and basketball

I feel Brunetti was bitter. He felt shunned by the staff because he wasn't geting the attention he wanted. A few camps and his stock started to rise. I think he came here to camp just to say look at me what you think now? The staff offered but he knew he would never commit to UT. We'll get our QB this year. Weither it's Scorggins, Rettig, Hendrix, or a combination. Let's get Lamison in school and teach him the offense, snce he can help immediately. The staff was never high on Brunetti, I wish him luck at WVU. But, remember it's still early and he could always Decommit like others in the past.

Hey now.....although we are on the totally other side of the state, there are many die-hard UT fans in Memphis. I would venture to say that there are as many, if not more, fans of UT as there are U of Memphis. That fence needs to go around Memphis and keep an open pipeline into our highschool football and basketball programs.

Burnetti was one of those die-hard UT fans to! He said he was just waiting for Tenn. to offer! All of the better players leave the state! I wish UT would quit offering memphis players!!!

It's a good offense for him to play in at the moment, so you can't fault him. But I doubt Bill Stewart's going to be there very much longer, so even if he commits and plays for a year or two, if WVU brings in a new coach with a new scheme he would be a prime target to transfer out.

Relax, Munchie will be a Vol if Scroggins won't. Plus, I think 2 out of the top 10 QBs will de-commit before NSD

if people are panicking about the qb situation, munchie isnt going to help anything. the thought of munchie being our only hope is what would make me panic the most.

and your belief that 2 of the top 10 QBs will decommit is just some arbitrary idea you had that is based on nothing

to make it plain, though i have nothing but complete respect for my fellow VN posters and their opinions, i completely disagree with everything you just said

Brunetti going to WVU is the best case scenario from a Tennessee standpoint in my opinion. He could have went to one of the Mississippi schools and that would hurt more as far as recruiting Memphis. WVU isn't going to convince many from Memphis to travel to the home of Robert Byrd and The Dancin' Outlaw. He went to an offense that suits his skillset out of conference.

I would rather have Hendrix or Rettig in our offense.

Then we move on. The sky isnt falling dude. Brunetti did NOT fit our system. He said numerous times that he wanted to be in an offense that could utilize his feet as well. That isnt us. There will be a few QB prospects bust out in their SR years and end up as 4* recruits. Dont panic in June.

Im just thinking to myself. QB's usually don't decommitt. Scroggins and Rettig are IT. If not one of these guys, we will be doomed at QB again this year. I HATE Munchie, I am sorry.

I agree, Brunetti did not fit our system, but he was a QB that could be trained and molded well to fit our system. IMO.

My belief that 2 of the top 10 qbs will de-commit before NSD is based on it happened last year, it could very will happen again. Not saying IT WILL HAPPEN, just putting it out there that it's a possibility

Nothing that Munchie has done has led me to believe that he won't be a good QB. Not as good as Scroggins, but still good

With that said, I guess we'll agree to disagree

munchie will need a year or so, but he WILL be a god qb if the right people get ahold of him, I think we nead lamaison this year, from the vids i saw only thing brunetti had on munchie was mechaincs, munchies arm strenght was WAY better. but acording to our resident recruting expert, munchie DOES NOT have an offer to play QB here LMAO, but scout and rivals and a few other people that are alot more knowlagable than said persion, says he does.

Actually they don't. As I've pointed out, the people that are knowledgable, ie: Brent Hubbs, James Bryant, always said that he would have to prove he could play QB at our camp to secure an offer. That's the only position they wanted him at and he didn't get it done. Those sites get offers wrong ALL THE TIME. They go by what a prospect tells them since the coaches can't comment on recruits. And recruits embellish their offer lists quite frequently or misunderstand coaches. I bet you any amount of money that Munchie never received a written offer from our staff.

Tajh Boyd? Chris Sims? Chris Leak? Yeah, QBs decommit.

Brunetti verbaled toWVU last Monday. I don't think it was a coincidence that UT was evaluating another QB the same day. No idea who it was, but he looked good.
