The NY Penal Code codifies Reckless Endangerment in §120.20 in the second degree and §120.25 in the first degree for injuries to persons and 145.25 for risk to damage to property. One of the most important elements in these charges is not that necessarily damage or injury, but that there was potential for substantial injury or damage to occur by the defendant's actions.

Okay... but where was the chance of damage to? Maybe a car driving down the street?

What's the maximum penalty?

As someone stated earlier, they could have landed in front of a car causing an accident or if his shoot did get tangled up in the traffic light and damaged it somehow. Worse case scenario is the shoot fails and they fall to their death on someone or something.

Regardless, its best to discourage people from jumping off buildings in NYC.

I'm not sure who they endangered other than themselves, either, and as far as I know putting yourself in danger isn't against the law...
I agree but here is a related querstion, why are there laws stating we have to wear a seatbelt while driving a car?

*chute... come on ninja turtle. :p
I agree with this also, it's crazy and stupid to jump off buildings in NYC especially at night.
