And a Vol got off the base Dawgs able to throw ball back to third baseman to tag him out.
A horrid way to end the game.
A valiant effort but that was a problem.

ruled a strike out, not caught stealing, can't fault Maddox there.

CDS says, the pitcher stepped off the mound, so it wasn't a balk, ump called the pitch a strike, got Maddox in the rundown and that's how the final out occured

There was some confusion. the final ruling is caught stealing...the umpire at the plate did not see the pitcher step off the mound...he threw to home, the ump called a strike, meanwhile Maddox had taken a huge lead and got tagged in the rundown. Because the pitcher stepped off the mound the ump shouldn't have ruled the pitch a strike.

I hope they post video of the play... I'd like to see how the pitcher stepped off the rubber and still managed to throw home for a strike. At any rate, what was Maddox thinking?

you'd have to ask him. I didn't get to see the beginning of the game, didn't get to listen until the 6th, didn't get to watch until 7 or so...what happened with Godley?

I have a bad feeling this series doesn't go past tonight, us losing and no chance of winning any more games...that seems like a worse case scenario at this point.

I didn't listen to the game only checked Twitter updates every so often. I think Godley must not have had his usual command. He got hit early and often. You're right, today is likely the only game they will play given the near 100% chance of rain tomorrow and Sunday.

I am stunned Georgia won.. we have been horrific this year. Hey guys if you are interested and can watch CSS (comcast sports) the georgia at tennessee game is on tomorrow night starting at 7pm. just an fyi.

This is just getting ridiculous. If the hitter swings and makes contact on that throw home, what happens? Its so rare to let a kid have a green light to home, but it sounds like Will went on his own. That's definitely a tough way to lose.
