Evans hurts. Looked like the one game-breaker, game-changer we have. This makes coaching that much more important. He's the closest we have to a guy that can overcome other offensive shortcomings we may have - perminant - or in a particular game. We just have to be that much more creative and execute every play that much better. Last week didn't give me a ton of confidence that we can.
Young, any time you lose a pass rusher on a team short on them, its a blow. He got some pop during camp, but those are limited samples and the media can get sucked into the way a guy looks and moves during drills. My thought is that he was going to be a situational guy, at least early in the season. Pass Rushing downs, where he & TB can both be on the field and pin their ears back. My thought is, if we're getting them into those pass rushing sub-group downs, we're doing alright on 1st & 2nd down, and the more 3rd and longs you force, the better your chance to get the ball back.
The way I see it, unless its #7, this team isn't built to win games relying on one guy. Offensively, we need to be more creative and have a smaller room for error, slightly. Defensively, make them work. Make them earn it. Looking at the guys we have other than TB, losing Young means our DBs need to step up on passing downs. If we dont have another guy to get after the QB (which I dont think we do), the backend needs to be the one's to step up.
Game really seems like a toss-up. Usually I tend to be a bit Orange-tinted, so maybe it feels like a loss. Hope I'm wrong.
