I'm sorry I got this started. I wasn't looking for an absolute confirmation, just an educated opinion from one of the respected recruiting gurus around here.

I forgot how difficult it is to communicate with so many around here. Thanks for the reminder.

Boro Vol there has been alot of names tossed around in the Blakely thread but none seem to make sence.

I appreciate that.....I'll check it out.

I'm certain I should have known that, or remembered to use the search function before posting. I could have saved the board Gestapo 20 or so minutes of thinly veiled sarcasm.

La'el Collins - LSU
De'anthony Thomas- USC
Hesean Clinton-Dix - Alabama
Malcolm Brown - Texas
James Wilder - FSU
Karlos Williams - FSU
Brent Calloway - Alabama
Lawrence Thomas - Mich State
Mike Bellamy - Clemson
Trey Metoyer - Oklahoma
Brandon Williams - Oklahoma

Of these 11 guys, you would think it was someone that had a UT offer before they committed to their school.

Which leaves according to Rivals this is who we had offered:

Collins -OL from Louisiana
Wilder - LB - from Florida
Karlos Williams - DB - from Florida
Brent Calloway - LB - from Alabama
Bellamy - RB - from Florida but this wasn't a secret everyone knew he was here
Good info from Bellamy thread

The recruit in question (if true) doesn't want the school to which he is committed to know he has taken a visit(s). However, based on reports from around the SEC one might be able to use the process of elimination. We know where Clowney was this weekend for instance. How many 5 star kids (that are committed elsewhere) does this staff have a relationship with to begin with.

Not saying it even happened, but the list of who it COULD have been is a pretty short one. JMHO

and if Basilio is right that it happened but this ruins our chances with the recruit was it worth it?

it will blow over in a couple of days when the boards are convinced it's bs.

will be find.

won't matter if the damage is already done. Basilio either hurts his credibility :)olol:) or damages the efforts of our coaches. Only one of those should bother anyone

No offense intended, LV, but in the program's best interest I have to say, this rumor is BS. Please share this opinion openly, folks. Thx!

Go Vols!

Well if a committed recruit of a top program in the country wanted to come see U.T. but in respect to where he is committed keep it completely below the "down low" to check us out......I would think the powers that be of our football team would uphold that type of request to the fullest.

BTW...I heard on Basilio's show today that he did indeed confirmed that this 5* mystery man was there at the game Saturday. If I was guessing I'd say it was Anthony Johnson or Kiaro Holts....both of which are 5*'s by Scout.com and 4*'s by Rivals.com.

If this is indeed true, this mystery recruit can't honestly expect to keep this quiet. The stadium is a public place and there are too many people that follow recruiting for him to not be noticed.

That being said, did anyone who was at the game see anyone that fits that aforementioned description?

Last I saw Hubbs stated that he was unable to confirm this rumor, but did not shoot it down as not true.

He said he has'nt been able to confirm one was here & to his knowledge there was'nt. He said he will try to dig & make sure.

What makes you believe it? Hubbs & JB have shot down this rumor.

I don't have confirm on any visitor other than the officials who were here. Still checking.

The one name that was here that we haven't talked about was Jordan Jenkins.

above is Hubbs statement. not sure that is a shoot down myself.. notice he is still checking. :)
