Basketball bigger than football?

Football- 6 National Championships. Basketball- 1 Elite Eight appearance. So no UT basketball is not going to be bigger than UT football until those 2 change. I played basketball all my life and love the sport, but at UT football is king still. But love both, GO VOLS!

when football is down basketball pops up. Barring some PSU-type scandal football will always be bigger at UT

Yep.

I will cheer for the basketball team as passionately as I do for the football team, but if there is a choice as to which one is bigger, it is always football.

Because the state of the Football program the past couple years. I have actually got more into Basketball. Basketball is a super stressful game to watch because you don't know what will happen. Any team can come out and start draining threes.

I think UT will always be a football school first and foremost. That being said, I honestly enjoy both equally and would never choose one over the other.

fball will always be the cashcow, but in reality its prolly easier to win in bball than fball here. JMO

Football is the business. I enjoy the basketball team but their wins and losses don't even come close to making me feel good or bad.

Just look at the number of replies and views in the Hubbs commit thread & compare that to any of the 3 star linebacker commits and see how big the disparity is in interest.

I just turned 27 and LOVE basketball a lot more than football. Not saying it has anything to do with the way UT's football team is right now but I've loved Basketball more my whole life. I remember when tickets were so dang cheap lol. I support both but football will always be king at UT and basketball will likely not pass it. Look at Florida...even if Urban didnt' win those championships and you kept Billy D's...football would still be king at Florida. Just the way it is I guess.

I'm a big fan of both, but football more than basketball. It's definitely easier to be a bball fan now, but I've been a following them since the Kevin O'Neil years.

FYI I'm 29.

I will always love basketball more than football. I'm 23 and played basketball competitively for 16 years.

Give it 30 more years of the crap we've been through in football and we will start becoming one. I don't see us climbing back to the top as long as the SEC is so good.

Is this even a question? I would guess the 2,000,000 more posts in the football section is a good indication. That being said why do we even need threads like these....I love all ur sports....most are in different times of the yr...I'm a bigger football fan now and when this season ends basketball will just start getting good and I will be the biggest basketball fan.....I can even multi task and cheer for the baseball and both the men and lady vols basketball team at the same time. Today I have been on the football basketball and baseball board....maybe I just have less of a life then the rest since I don't understand why I have to choose between the sports.

who cares. Good coach. Good recruits. Packed houses coming. Top 5 in attendance. At least a couple of years of Ncaa runs coming.

Just enjoy it.

The way it's looking, the tables may turn.

Football will always be bigger here but basketball for now is better. I hope we can get our football and basketball programs at a championship level. Why not be good at both?

Again, I wasn't asking if it was bigger overall. It's not, and I highly doubt ever will be.

I was asking the under 21 crowd which one they liked more, because it seems the younger generation likes basketball more.
