I live south of Nashville and thinking about going to the game. My son said campus is icy so not sure about parking. Plus calling snow in Knox tonight.

I don’t have a ticket but want to see them get a win against Bama.

I am headed to Birmingham for the weekend, I will be watching this game with some Bama grads over brunch on Saturday. I am hoping to come away with some bragging rights!

Can any locals give an update on road conditions for those if us traveling into town for Saturday's game?

I’ll try. The interstate around and through Knoxville is in good shape. Kingston Pike is in good shape as well. Some of the other secondary thoroughfares are decent, but slick in spots. Roads lightly traveled are bad.

There is so much ice compacted below the snow layer that things can get tricky in a hurry, especially with hilly locations. If you’re coming from I-40 west, I would stay on the interstate to downtown and take the exit at the top of the downtown ramp and follow down to Neyland Drive. Any other routes may or may not be okay.

Things could continue to change as temps are plummeting beginning later this afternoon to around 12 degrees tonight. I would also start early, obviously. This is the worst as far as roads go that I’ve ever seen in Knoxville, at least as far as this timeframe goes.
