I wish they would give Donald a break too.
Jurrick, Donald, and now Hopson take some major licks on this board.
I am a little frustrated with Hopson but I think he still has plenty of time, like more than half a season to grow.

Hopson just needs some confidence.. when he gets that, he'll drive more, and use his athleticism in a better way than just shooting the 3 ball all day.

Pearl is frustrated with his play too.. but he's trying as hard as he can to get him going, and thats why he's starting him right now

worst comparison i have ever seen

Are you kidding me?! The guy was a top 10 recruit and he shows very little potential at this point. I understand he young but was he shooting moon balls in highschool to get his top 10 ranking?

How can you disagree with the fact that good players in the last couple of years that were freshmen like Hopson (Durant, Odum, Rose....etc) were able to make shots and adapt to the college level. Maybe Hopson was over-hyped and we expect much more than he can return. I'm not saying he sucks, I'm just saying that he hasn't proven himself as a starter at this point.

Who from this class have shown they were as good as Durant/Rose/Oden?

No one. Hopson was rated decently for this class, especially since it's based on potential.

You +1 me on that. Greg Monroe is doing pretty well thus far. It just bothers me how a guy is the 5th best player in the ENTIRE country and isn't able to have more of an impact than he is. Remember basketball is much different than football where young talent usually takes a while to develop (gain muscle, learn play book, battle through depth chart). Basketball is a sport where you can make an impact even after highschool (LeBron James).

Yeah, but LeBron was a freak physically in high school.

Hopson is still pretty skinny and needs to put on some weight. He's also not used to playing at this level of competition, he's having to adjust his play style, ..etc

Give him more than a few games his freshman year to call him a bust.

Once again, lol - especially at the bolded statement. And the way he shoots the ball doesn't make a difference. The way he shoots it is better actually, harder to get blocked.

And this is the second worst post of the week. The worst was your previous post in this thread.

Wake up, there are no Odens, Roses, or Beasleys in this class... wow. If you think Hopson hasn't shown potential... then I guess you haven't seen his first step, some of his defensive plays (when he gives the full effort), his floaters, and when he shoots 50% from downtown. He's not lighting it up, no, but 9ppg or whatever he's at isn't something to be ashamed of.

No one in the top 10 of the 08 class would have been top 10 in the past two classes.
