Battle of the PGs: the oft-criticized Jasmine Powell vs Bayou Barbie HVL

OF COURSE Hailey Van Lith had her best game of the season against Tennessee.

Pretty sure I jinxed the Lady Vols by saying earlier that she has only been good, not great, this season. 😫

She nearly single-handedly let the air out of the 4th quarter for Tennessee with that scoring flurry she had. We were done after that. Dammit.

I was at the game and enjoyed seeing the big crowd today. And we got pretty loud now and then. But I never got the sense the crowd really believed Tennessee could win.

Also, HVL is definitely one of those people who looks more doughy on TV than in person. She looked to be in better shape in person. She certainly beat the hell out of us! Ugh.

If you really think that, I'm curious why you would even follow the team.

Ya'll can heap the hate on all you want, but I really feel bad for JP tonight. A really smart, sweet kid who's played her ass off and had a horrible game. To say anyone did any of this on purpose is just sick. I'm sure both JP and Jewel feel about as bad as they possibly can tonight. I'm saying a prayer for both.

Well I guess u guys like watching players struggle… I’m very pro JP but I have eyes… she wasn’t locked in.

She has been ELECTRIC on D this year.

For her and Jewell it’s ok to struggle on offense but you HAVE to lock down on D. They didn’t

We have players to help and didn’t use them

I would tend to agree. There were times during the game she appeared very lackadaisical. Hopefully next game she’ll find her mojo.

Just curious - were you at the game? If you were, and watched Kellie, you would know differently. HVL walked, fouled, and double-dribbled the ball the entire game and the officials didn't call it. Kellie was in the officials ear all game long, begging for them to call this and stop the LSU players from taunting and cussing at our players. Many fans were just disgusted after the game at the horrible officiating. I'm not blaming it for the loss, but as someone who has watched Lady Vol basketball since 1987, that was one of the top 5 worst officiated games I've ever seen. Our players and the coaches deserved better - and as a fan paying hard earned $$$ for tickets, I deserved better. With knowledgeable officials, I truly believe the outcome could have been much different.

Forgetting the comparisons. JP really stepped up her game after Destiny went down. Her more aggressive approach is a double edged sword. On the plus side, it has made her more effective and there were some games where she did take over in stretches but the downside is that she also acts as though she is the number one option when the game is on the line versus working to get Rickea and Jewell touches. Her trying to do it herself, killed the LVs chances against LSU. On the third flipside, It is not like Rickea or Jewell were demanding the ball down the stretch either, they got passive,. It seems like there was a lack of role clarity -- in terms of who is responsible for being the closer and a lack of know how in terms of getting the ball to the right players in the right spot.

They don’t demand the ball, and that’s the problem.

The announcers kept referring to social media's KVL subject matter,,,wish they had referenced which Soc Media they were speaking of
Hailey gave interview about her wanting to
Prove she could play point guard that's more than likely why she left horse racing state.
But get you wanting to know if Hailey been told by coaches what being said about them and what sites.
Or Do players look for stuff on their own
