Read they are down to Chad Morris and Fedora...but whoever takes that job is up against it. They have one 2017 recruit and with transfers and grads, could field a team of only 50 players next year

Baylor is going to be a cellar dweller in the Big 12 for a few years after all of this. Their recruiting issues and exodus of players is going to start to show next year.

Its going to take a coach that can endure 3-4 years of mediocre football and that can really recruit to bring them back. Sound familiar?

I think it's Morris.

This isn't really a step up in coaching for Fedora.

It could be money wise...he is only making like 1.8 million..they can pay double that...still I wouldn't touch that job unless I just wanted a head gig or wanted to cash some Baptists' money

Morris is the guy. And I don't think they will be cellar dwellers with him. Middle of the pack is more like it. He will have this team scoring 30-40 points a game and rely on outscoring teams which will work 6-7 times a year, good enough for 6-6 seasons until the chitstorm passes.

Baylor will survive, especially if Morris can run an offense that produces, he will get recruits.

And look at Penn St. Got hammered by NCAA but look at what quality coaching can do.

Chad Morris hasn't exactly set the AAC on fire in two seasons. He's 7-17. Baylor lost a lot of guys after the scandal with Briles and will be thin in coming years being they've had an interim coach this year and no one really committing to the current staff.

TCU was young this year and will be much improved. Texas Tech will be better. Baylor, no matter who the coach will be, is going to tumble behind those programs and K-State for a few seasons until their recruits are there. They may not get as low as Kansas, but it's not going to be pretty.

Where is BU Bear to fill us in ?

I'm hearing Fedora is a no go (purely speculation). Still in negotiations with Morris (fact). Sonny Dykes and Phil Montgomery as back up plans (???).

Didn't take PSU to turn around. I could see Morris doing the same thing at Baylor.

Being reported that Morris counters with 5 year, $24.5M offer ... Baylor passes and moves on?

How smart (lucky) was Texas not hiring Art Briles when they hired Strong? Despite the bad record, Texas is poised to win big the next couple of years with CS recruiting. The well isn't dry in Austin if they all stay.

@NCAABLEACHERS University of Houston regents meeting with Baylor regents to discuss Art Briles and to "give clarity of how much he didn't know"

@PhillipEricksen UH board chairman: Baylor regents said they would meet with us to discuss Briles and "give you clarity of how much he didn't know."

Wow. That would be a very, very stupid move for Houston.
